George Foreman - Lost his world heavyweight title to Ali in Zaire and after coming out of retirement he won the heavyweight title in 1994 at the age of 45. Bernard Hopkins - Went to Jail and came out and started his boxing career, Lost his first fight and went on to become of the all time great middleweights, and still boxing at the age of 45. Manny Pacquiao - Coming from a poor family in the phillippines to becoming the first boxer in history to win ten world titles in eight different weight divisions. Mike Tyson - Coming from a rough upbringing, to finding comfort with cusd'amato, and becoming one of the most exciting young talents in boxing and soon becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history and soon unifying the division. I would include Ali but think everyone will vote for him with a landslide, so wanted to hear your thoughts about these boxers. Feel free to mention any other great stories
Pac or hopkins but I think there are some lesser well known guys out there that have some pretty sick stories as well, kazim ouma being one of them.
Its got to be Pac, came from nothing at all. Working for less than 1$ a day scraping rust of metal, To selling cigg's on the streets of the Philippines, living and sleeping in his gym as a young kid....To a national hero and one of boxing's ATG Although Hopkins story is a great one aswel. I dont think Ali can compete with these two.
Bernard Hopkins easily. The system was working against him. Unlike emmanuel, Hopkins didn't have an automatic fanbase due to being the first elite fighter from his ethnic group. Hopkins started the pro game late and is an ex-felon. There was no cute Olympic story for him to sell himself.
