1. Buddy McGirt - almost every fight he's in 2. Jack Loew - Pavlik vs. Hopkins 3. Floyd Mayweather Sr. - Hatton vs. Pacquiao 4. Yoel Judah - 5. Enzo Calzaghe - Lockett vs. Pavlik, Maccarinelli fights 6. Norman Stone - Ruiz vs. Jones, Ruiz vs. Golota You complete the list!!
Ozell Nelson - Taylor/Froch, he told Taylor before the 12th that he needed to win the round when he should have just told him to run.
Actually that goes back to the 11th round. Nelson told JT he needed the last two rounds big. There was a serious exchange in the 11th. I thought Taylor got the best of that one, but it took a lot out of him. As soon as I heard that JT is in the SMW tourney, I immediately said he needs to dump Nelson.
I did too, I thought he needed to bump Ozell right after the Froch fight. Ozell is the one who convinced JT to fire Birmingham after the Hopkins fights and hire Steward, so in short, Ozell has hurt JT's career in many ways.
Make me a list of all the trainers who do not tell their fighter to throw more than one jab. After that, make me a list of all the fighters who stayed on their feet after Pavlik got the double-jab/right hand working.
You're right! Follow the chronology: JT beats BHop twice, neslon gets Birmingham fired. JT hires Steward. Manny badly under estimates Pavlik. JT fires Steward. Ozell becomes head trainer. JT loses 2 out of 3. This really sucks when you examine it!!
WTF? Interesting theory that Lockett lost because of his trainer rather than the more commonly held view that he lost becuase he was about five levels out of his depth, as evidenced by the entire rest of his career...
