Next in the series after James J Corbett In three categories Best win: In terms of quality of opponent, and manner of victory Most important win: In terms of historical significance Most spectacular performance: More for when we get to ones with footage, but not really the quality of the win, just a great display of the champion's ability. My picks Best win: Joe Choynski, considering the form they were in at the time, I'd say this. I think Goddard was just a bit too past it. Most important win: Steve O'Donnell (1895 Nov 11), his title claim Most spectacular performance: From what I've seen Joe Goddard (1898 July 8), though he has plenty of quick KOs you could also pick like against O'Donnell and Kenny, I think this Goddard fight was a more well rounded display of boxing ability.
Have to reply on this if only to agree on the Choynski and O'Donnel picks. The ko was Craig was impressive.
