It's conceivable but highly unlikely. We have a sizeable amount of footage of SRR, we only know of about two fights of Greb's that were undeniably taped. For me I'd have to see a sizeable amount of footage of both to warrant dethroning the P4P king and even then I wouldn't be sure. Langford & Greb are mythologized because they are without any footage, and we have only to go on the words of sensational journalists. Imagine what kind've mythos would be constructed around the midget pacman or RJJ if their were only second and third hand accouns of how fast and powerful they were? I'm not saying Greb isn't as great as they say or that all 5'6" of langford wasn't koing heavyweights but I think if film ever did show up I wouldn't be surprised if I and many others weren't slightly underwhelmed.
Langford showed dominance at every weight he fought at whether it was being competitive with all time greats Gans, Blackburn and Walcott as a teenager or barely past it. Whether he was carrying Ketchel to try and line up a shot at the title, pasting O'Brien or beating the best heavyweights of his era. Langford was a force at every weight he fought at. dominance may have been the wrong choice of words but I think you understand my meaning.
I think they both surpass Sugar Ray, without question. Bob Fitzsimmons is the man everyone is chasing though.
It depends what video shows up, if footage of Greb shows up of him losing to a man 20lbs lighter than himself and getting beat senseless by Gibbons, then some may rate him a tad lower
well he did write "as dominant as the were on paper" meaning that the footage would show that the are as talented as their resumes and news writers have made them out to be.
No footage of guys who were so good...and who fought so much..like Greb, Rosenbloom and Langford is just preposterous...
