I don't understand what point you are trying to make. That I'm not a fan of Green? I didn't think he had many fans left these days anyway.

haha that even surprises me mate, I always thought that Roy was shot to pieces after watching the Tarver 3 fight but I thought that if he could avoid Greens punches he should still win, I remember being unsure going into that fight

I think the original post is misguided. Kats career outshines Green's by miles IMO.

Nobody was interested in that fight because they saw it as a money making exercise and years too late. I didn't care about their motives for fighting, I saw 2 old legends in a chess match that I enjoyed. Just because they aren't as athletic as they once were dosn't mean they lost their boxing skills. I enjoyed it and if you didn't, your loss.

In the earlier post above (see #17) you said:

'I always thought that Roy was shot to pieces after watching the Tarver 3 fight'

    and above you've said:

'Just because they aren't as athletic as they once were dosn't mean they lost their boxing skills'.

So Roy hasn't lost his boxing skills, but he's shot to peices.

    Sorry if I'm confused.

Shiner should lend Dr Gonzo his rose colored glasses so that he can be somewhat satisfied with the Tigers performance yesterday.

When I think of a shot guy I think of a guy who has lost his athletic ability and sometimes confidence, skills and knowledge of boxing don't ever leave as far as I know. They can't do what they once did when they are shot but sometimes their skills even improve to compensate for the loss of athletic ability, as seen with Bernard Hopkins.

Hopkins certainly stretched his career out way further than most. But he's shot too mate.

Nearly as many of the critics who were crying for Roy's retirement were also calling for Bhop's after the snoozefest - and with good reason.

Hopkins is **** ,he ain't developed skills late in his career to compensate for his lack of fitness ,he has developed a set of dirty tactics ie rabbit punches, low blows and rolling around on the floor like a little girl whenever his lungs scream for a rest . Developed skills FFS ,,, Jones's fight with Hopkins recently was a **** .

That's what I'm saying, I think Hopkins has been on the slide physically since the Eastman fight, maybe even before then. He become a master of effiency and his skills have continued to improve in my opinion. I'd say he's shot but he'd still beat most guys. He didn't look as good as some expected against Roy but that was due to Roys style and the fact that Roy had lost to some clubfighter from ossieland the fight before. For some reason people thought Hopkins was gonna blow him out of the water, it wasn't realistic but now these people think Hopkins is long gone because of their unrealistic expectations for that fight.
