Will Tomlinson is getting a shot at an IBO belt too.

Not sure what Phil will do once an Australian holds every belt. His work will be done.

Maybe he'l have time to draft up some interim belts and find some local kids to fight for those.

briggs is training hard atm, if green is giving him a payday i can half see the point of this but if green wants to win by ko i think he can get briggs out in six.

didnt briggs say his body doesnt respond to training and fighting anymore? he has no chance of winning this fight imo

of course he has a chance.very slim but a chance.dont ruin my dream of a 3 years retired Briggs icing Danny Green and making him do a Mundine in Dortmund,Germany impression.dont be that guy Marcus.

I hate to agree with you Marcus but you are right.....I hope Briggs comes through the fight ok and gets a good payday.

Its a shame Briggs couldnt have a few quick warmup fights

Reckon Briggsy will give all he's got and then some. But it'll probably amount to an all-out attempt at an early stoppage - could ensure an early rounds war - but might play right into Green's hands.

stiffy mate I merely mentioned the fight was happening I like you dont think it is a good idea for either fighter. I think that they are both 5 years past there best and it will be a RJJ V BHOP fight. a Classic you would have loved to have seen 5-10 years ago but a pay day at the moment no more no less

    http://news.smh.com.au/breaking-new...llenges-but-green-not-keen-20100501-tznk.html

A southpaw with a record of 23-1 (16 KOs), Ross is not on Green's immediate radar.
"He seems like a strong fighter and I think he's a very good talent, we know who he is," Green told AAP on Friday.
"We have got our sights set on something else."
Green wouldn't divulge the identity of his preferred opponent but said he would definitely remain at cruiserweight and his next bout would be a defence of his IBO title.

Why did Briggs retire in the 1st place? Didn't he have some health issues?

Not a good fight. Briggs needs at least a tune up or two to see where he's at.

paul retired because of health issues which apparently has gone and is not a problem any more. IBO world title is what is getting him back a warm up fight could go the wrong way so best to have the fight against green and do his best all or nothing i guess
