Yes it could go the wrong way. I don't expect them to risk a big fight with a tune up. But it would be the right thing to do especially with a guy who has been out of the ring for so long.

Look what Vitali did, was off for 4 years and came back to wipe the floor with everyone so far. And he's 4 years older than Briggs.
His first fight was a destruction of Sam Peter.

If Briggs comes back in 100% shape, and that's obviously the kicker here, I can't see any reason why he can't give Green a hiding.

I agree 2 warm up fights is what should happen but trying to make excuses for the boys why it isn't. Like green when he came back would be the way to go but I think that the window of opportunity for the IBO title was small and they thought if he fights and looks bad Philly wont let them fight for the title

Brigg isn't getting a World Title shot. The IBO isn't a legitimate World Title Belt.

Briggs has fought 2 wars with Adamek...
who has Green fought? RJJ? he peaked about 12 yrs ago...
Those of us who know Paul know one thing... he will train harder than anyone and he still has the goods..
Those who think this is a hand picked apponent from Danny will be in for a surprise... And just for the record... team Briggs approached Mundine for a comeback match, but they politely declined... i think Paul is probably about 15 years too young for "the pioneer" to accept a fight from.... HURRICANE.......

I hope you are right Stewy. I have argued that Briggs losses to Adamek are better than anyone Super Middleweight or above has done in Aussie boxing in the same era. I hope you are right, if this fight occurs i will be cheering Paul on.

I will be supporting Briggs myself but if he fights Green this year with no lead in fights i would give him very very little chance to win.
Prime for prime i would favour Briggs.

Good to see someone with a bit of sense, too many people in this forum act like Briggs is just some hand picked fall guy:patsch
How quickly they forget about how good Briggs is when he is 100% healthy i mean he went life and death with a guy whos now making a big impact on the heavyweight scene.
Anyone who thinks this is an easy fight for Danny is honestly ****ed in the head.
Briggs is a warrior and he wouldn't know how to dog a fight and it wouldn't surprise me if the 3 year break does him good i mean the guys been fighting since he was 9 years old so the freshen up may do him good as it was for Danny and Briggs is 3 years younger so to all the guys who think this fight is a walkover i think you'll be in for a shock!
I think some people are making Danny out to be sugar Ray and that he'll just dispatch Briggs whenever he feels like it
This will be Dannys hardest fight since coming back from retirement and he hasn't faced a puncher like Briggs in his whole career.
I think Paul is a born fighter and has way to much pride to just come back for the cash i think he'll give Danny the fight of his life..in fact i think it will be a war:deal

    Stewy (Briggs)..

Holding a microphone and enjoying after parties relative to the success of another fighter is NOT training.

Bing the second last man to leave an after party is NOT LONGEVITY.

Who cares what Greens oponents have done during the last few bouts.. All have faced a rejuvenated DANNY.

I'm not a nut hugger, in fact I worry about Briggs..

Paul needs a bout.. maybe two bouts before facing Green. We all know it's not in the financial equation. So be it.

    Green KO2. Case closed.

Im happy for a few $$$ Bets.
