..except you don't get rounds for taking punches well? He only got the twelfth. The official cards were ridiculous. 115-112.
Not really true, Green kept on about being in front and only needed to last another 1.5rds............ not entirely classy but it was ok speech I understand him saying he was in front once, but i think he might have said it 3 times....... that was borderline in my opinion
I believe it was a fair comment to make 3 times. It was his fight to lose. Next time come prepared for 12 rounds and not 6. His preparation was not up to scratch.
Hmm....just dissapointment considering how close he was to holding a wbc belt because the end result is probably retirement. Give him some grace for that...he was very appreciative and congratulatory towards the pole...i think he covered everything really well. And 99 % of the time, i cant stand his interviews. But this time he was good.
Yeah, "a few minutes away from the title". Which is ****, because the judges predictably had him too wide at that point but in reality it ought to have been about dead level at the time he got knocked out and with Wlodarczyk pulling away. (and would have been deserving of a 115-113 or so decision that he wouldn't have gotten had it not been for the KO). Also, Green dubbed Wlodarczyk "the best fighter in the world". Said that thrice as well. :yep
So close...........yet so far away. Oh well no more shiny green belt just retirement again & then come back.....again.... to try & entice mandy for one more run around after he gets flogged by Trout.
Not a bad fight, Green did alright to go as far as he did, but paid the price of acting like a CW for as long as he has. Diablos head was obviously where it needed to be, and team Greens plans of cherry picking a fella who had recent issues failed. Like some others have said, his post fight speech wasn't so gracious IMO, he went on about the 'few minutes away from the title' **** a bit much. On one hand he attempts to sound humble and admits defeat, but also tries to whitewash it with that ****. 3 times. You got beat by the bigger better man, wear it like a man. Dunno whether he should hang them up now or not. I think he still has something to offer OZ boxing if he concentrates on fights at a weight more suitable, that is, LHW. He can still do alright there even at this stage, but he'll never be top shelf. His card are pretty decent and he will still draw crowds. Retirement is also a possibility, and I doubt too many would argue with that choice. Good fight and both men did well, but I still think Danny is a bit of a wanker, though he has redeemed himself considerably with these last 2 fights.
Ah, well to address the other comment separately - yes, Stas showed great heart and resiliency to hang in there and keep a big assault squirreled away until the end. :good He did impress considering it was an almost entirely one sided affair. He's maybe just a bit too light in the backside for featherweight; prone to being blown about like a Cat O Nine Tails under fire. I'd wonder if he might be served to bulk up (and it would have to be bulking, as he's got no growing into left at 35) and try 130 or even lightweight, where he'd still have freakish height and reach but would be better able to use them with a bit more strength...and perhaps become less susceptible to getting hurt with the type of stuff John had him hurt with? :think
you're as bitter & twisted as your boyfriend TC Getting all bitter over boxers like people do about football teams reeks of stupidity & nerdiness Two blokes had a go, put on a show, Green puts his arse on the line to bring some entertainment to Australia & makes a few quid here & there & you knock the bloke, what a sad **** you are
****? Green was breathing through his wide open mouth at the end of round 6. Spat the mouth guard out about 3 times prior. If he lasted the full 12 rounds it was an easy win.
