Not that late look at the difference in him from the Liston fight to the Williams fight.

I think that people realise that Tyson peaked very quickly and was a force in his early career, whereas Ali took a little more time to become what he was.

I would like to think that Clay could win at that stage and he'd certainly have a chance. But there's one component that troubles me.. And that's Tyson's lethal left hook. Even with only 10 bouts that punch was already lightening fast, accurate and powerful.. Clay with as many as 18 pro bouts got caught with a huge left hook from Henry Cooper which decked him and very nearly ended the bout. Could the same or worse happen against Tyson? Maybe... And Ali only went on to winning his fight with Cooper by stopping him on cuts - something that generally didn't happen to Tyson. We should also consider that if these two met as "prospects" with less than a dozen fights each, then it probably wouldn't be scheduled for more than perhaps 8 rounds or so. In this instance the structure may favor Tyson as he generally did tremendous work in the early rounds and wouldn't have to worry about being lured into deep water late.. There are other things to consider such as venue, ring size, etc..

One thing is picking tyson at that stage of their careers And another thing is saying tyson would destroy him early.
