Hey Kegsy, I'm fairly certain that after the ref stopped the fight about 10 seconds passed and the fight was clearly at an end G St. C corner threw the towel in....it looked pathetic, sail across the ring and landed on the ropes...the corner must have been ****ing embarassed they didn't stop it.

Interesting read, especially the only bit that made any sense ".... part of the liquor licence"

No doubt the decision was 'grog' based.

Assuming any 'tough guys, who carry guns and knifes as protection', had a belly full of grog at the stadium, and then attempted to brawl..... atleast an effort had been made to clear out the numbers of weapons.

Why any clown would take a knife or gun to a boxing match is beyong me.

I wonder if the 'concrete pollards' had been removed from the stadium surrounding, prior to the nights events..... can't be too careful... lol

Just poked my head up....not much internet on holidays......Good fight night after all...standout of the night was Jackson....I knew he was good but he looked great and pounded Gairy all night.....bring on Jackson VS Zappa

Willie looked ok but still needs to work on defence.

Frank had a war and just got up...thought it was a draw or a loss for Frank.

LHW is aust is a bit week week.....Maybe Zardiko{spelling} or Hamden vs Green :huh

The win by Green was very soft....we all knew it was going to be soft....but not that f..... soft

Green looked better and stronger but he wont have the speed to catch Mundine

a bit of respect for a great aussie champion there mate. how many others have the courage and bravery to retire before their first defence.how many others courageously ignore taunts by mundine calling him a chicken when he was SMW but bravely start calling him out when he starts getting somewhere at MW and insists he go to LHW because he played football at that weight a decade ago.dont mean to be so hard on you OB but you cant disrespect the greatest WA sports hero since Kim Hughes without upsetting people.

Green not happy with venue either:

Green slams Challenge Stadium over fan treatment
    From thewest.com.au
    27th April 2009, 14:30 WST

Danny Green has blasted Challenge Stadium officials and threatened never to fight at the Perth venue again following the fallout from his return to the ring on Sunday night.
Hundreds of fans were left fuming after a huge security presence meant they were forced to wait for upto an hour to enter the Mt Claremont venue to watch Green's comeback victory against South African Anthony Van Niekerk, missing large parts of the undercard.

There were more than 70 police officers in and around the stadium, including the tactical response group, to ward off potential bikie trouble while everyone entering had to pass through a metal detector. There were no reported incidents at the fight and no arrests.
Instead of enjoying a relaxing day following his two-round demolition of Van Niekerk, Green on Monday hit out at the set-up, labelling the stadium "a joke".

"It happens nowhere else in the world," said Green, who enjoyed his finest hour in boxing at Challenge Stadium when he became world light-heavyweight champion in December 2007 with victory over Croatian Stipe Drews.

"Challenge Stadium have a lot to answer for. I’m just thankful that my fans are so loyal and so staunch that they stayed around and supported me to the end.

"And to you guys I give you my word that will never happen again and it’s put the Mundine-Green rematch here in Western Australia in jeopardy the way that Challenge Stadium treated boxing fans last night. It was an absolute disgrace.
"My seven year old daughter had her potato chips searched, for God's sake.

"They would have to pull a massive rabbit out of a very small hat to make me fight there again."

John Lynch, the marketing manager of Challenge Stadium, defended the decision to bring in metal detectors saying they had no choice.
“It was a condition of our licence to have metal detectors,” Mr Lynch said.

“We didn’t make the decision, the requirement was made by the liquor licensing people as a condition of the event.”

Mr Lynch said stadium officials are to meet the Green Machine promotional team on Tuesday to try to resolve the issue.
