Can someone ask hyder to see what happens if he rubs PAIN AWAY over the entire person that is DANNY GREEN. WOW what a relief it would be.
Isn't this what the Mundine huggers use to say about the Ottke fight I believe Danny Green probably had the ability to be wealthy whatever occupation he did. Some guys have a talent making money and others don't. Most boxers don't because their lack of education, grubs that are promoters stealing their money or just don't have the street smarts to parlay their money wisely. Danny seems to have been brought up in a good family so this has probably helped him no doubt owning half of Perth. However, the reality is if Mundine wasn't around he wouldn't be in the situation he currently is. The RJJ, Tarver, BJ, the croat and Pole fights simpliy wouldn't have happened if he didn't have the Mundine feud and the benefits that resulted. Danny Green was a very average fighter on a world stage with no merit for anybody to fight him except that he brings the money plan and simple.
When you defeat a ledgend you become a ledgend only to fight bums , and when you do step it up you get your ass handed to you so again go back to fighting bums. Dont have to watch it your right but one also doesnt have to like it, nor the lies that go along with it, like it being advertised at LHW and being advertised as being sold out when its not.
Interesting read. Ty has a valid point that Green does keep mentioning Mundines name. Half of Perth hey, smart man.
Maybe, but someone wouldve taken Danny's place if he wasn't there, Jeff Fenech was the key man, remember Fenech had half a dozen blokes ready to feud with Mundine. If Danny Green didn't exist you can bet your bottom dollar there would be someone else such as a Paul Briggs that would've fitted into the mix. Mundine was a polarising character and was going to be feuding and fighting with someone...... now it may have taken a few overseas names to step in but Danny Green was groomed just perfect as the Aussie bogan taking on the Aboriginal racist.
yep in no way am i denying that, i do however think that greens personality fit the situation perfectly and probably milked every last cent out of that fight. Just on these two, have we ever seen two fighters in aus boxing history who have polarised opinions so much? love them or hate them mundine and green both got people talking about the sport and they have both given us some good fights. Good luck to green tonight i hope he puts on a show for his hometown fans
He got off Mundines name for a short time only to then use Bernard Hopkins name but when he got ass handed to my by Tarver and the Pole he all but forgot about Bernard and went back to making mention of Mundine again at every presser he has had. To be fair, Mundine is kinda doing the same but he dont mention Green at all these days, instead he mentions Floyd. Its a bussiness move because Mundine would have just about as much chances defeating Floyd as Green would in defeating Hopkins, all be it Mundine would recive a much worse flogging.
Yeah mate you are right, but Mundine was always going to polarise whereas Green needed Mundine to polarise the Aussie public as he indeed did :good I just think people are now getting confused because Green is now a household name and don't remember how it all started. If a bloke like Troy Waters came along 10yrs later and was 5lbs heavier he wouldve been Danny Green. :yep
yep i agree it was certainly a matter of circumstance and green marketed himself extremely well :good. Just saw a press conference with him saying he had received 3 different offers from beltholders if he wins against santiago , (these were at lhw). Im thinking shumenov, cloud and cleverly?
This certainly makes sense as the world boxing stage know he brings the money, has a name that knocked out RJJ and is very beatable given his last 2 fights. No wonder Frank Wa rren and co are after Danny....... Good luck to all involved. P.S Anyone think that Danny might carry this Santigo bloke a couple of rds if after 1rd it looks like a mismatch :think
