Some of these comparisons made in his this thread are funny.

Bernard has been the common denominator in some of HBO's most disappointing PPV numbers in recent years. He just isnt a big draw and never has been.

Considering Green is part owner of the company outlaying the money for the event and taking the risk on it, I dont think trying on 50-50 is that bad. Hopkins seemed to be fine with it not long ago. All Nard has to do is come down and pick up his cheque, thats all he has to do on his end. Green has to take the punt on whether the public is up for this , he will have to do the hard sell and be a media ***** all over again. For the Roy bout he had virtually no other sports the worry about taking the attention away and he had it mid week aswell. This fight is planned to be on a Sunday in the middle of the the AFL and NRL seasons. Thats a pretty big gamble trying to take them on, when in reality most people tuning into boxing in Australia would rather be watching one of those two codes.
At the end of the day no matter what the fractions are, Bernard is making some very good coin and there really is no guarantee he will make it anywhere else.
People are floating names out there but its all talk, this fight is real and ready to go.

IMO this is easy money for Hopkins. I think 60-40 is fine, just let him have it. But its not as though Hopkins is not getting well paid for his brand name, he certainly is.

hopkins has always been a greedy one.the jones rematch never happened when it should have due to the greed of both fighters. makes one appreciate the fact that someone like calzaghe could fight hopkins and jones within a year by essentially saying 'lets make the fight at cost to me'. Not many like that these days.....

if its a pure business move..hopkins will not make any real money like he wants fighting anyone else but Green....hes a god in OZ. a 50/50 spilt is more money than he will get in the states doing a 70/30 split with anyone else....
and you cant compare the "chump change or versus fight" he did, it was a stay busy fight/tune up for the roy jones rematch
