Stipe Drews, say what you want about him but he was the WBA light heavy weight champion at the time him and Green fought and Green took his title in a shut out.

Paul Murdoch, a good, honest light heavy weight on the outer fringe of world contender rankings, coming of a world light heavy weight title shot against the still undefeated light heavy and then cruiser weight champ, Zolt Erdei.

What a ****ing hypocrite. Green last 2 fights have been against genuine top 5 CW's, however is willing to work with Mundine who has been fighting bums for about 6 years now.

 

sorry pal your wrong...check the opponents that the so called top fighters green faced had previously fought.
Stripe drews,otis griffen,neikirk etc etc have all fought no one and had padded records like greeny.
Face facts,if you cant beat beyer...its all over from there.

Well, chummmm......p, I've basically given the facts and figures, based on their records, in a non emotive and objective manner, I don't care either way for Green, like I stated about Sitpe drews, say about him what you will but he was the WBA light heavy champ at the time when Green fought him and Green beat him for his title. What is a fighter going to do, avoid fighting the world champion because he feels the title holder has a padded record and is beneath him?
Tell me, do you get a break from the sheltered workshop over the Christmas break, I've always wondered.

 

Meh, indifferent to be honest, don't personally know the man, never met him nor spoken to him so can not judge him. I have enjoyed a couple of his earlier fights, don't necessarily agree with his promoting ethos, wouldn't pay to see any of the cards he has put on in the last few years and am not impressed with Boxa's treatment of undercard fighters. I do however, recognize that Mundine is free to promote whatever show he wants, is free to fight whatever opponent he wishes and is free to pay his undercard fighters whatever he feels. If he has chosen to play the villain in order to get punters along to see him fight, then that to is his prerogative.
No one has ever tried to force me to watch his fights, it is up to me if I want to acknowledged his fight cards and watch them and no one forces his opponents to fight him or the undercard fighters to fight on his shows.
Boxing is a sport, surely, but pro boxing is also an entertainment industry. If Mundines opponents and shows don't entertain then that is his failing, and ultimately it only effects him and his organisation, but if he can get enough bums on seats to make it all worthwhile, then at the very least, he has succeeded. I am not entertained so I don't buy in to it, therefore I can have no grievance. I do give the man some credit for getting in and fighting, regardless of the quality of his opponents. but in reality, I am indifferent.

 

Fair enough! Good points, he's entertained me so I am a fan, but I don't mind people not being fans, just a bit over the top some of the blind hate for him on here. Almost funny how much hate people have

 

not the biggest green fan, but he's last 3 cards hav been quality. i would hardly say he was "milking" the public

 

for many years cards on Fox promoted by Fenech had very bad mismatches between imports (mainly thais) who were fall guys for local fighters. It was average viewing and was milking things a bit. Fox had to instal an aussie vs aussie policy I think I remember someone saying.

Also Fighting a guy who is 8-1 for a world title is pretty interesting.

 

Funniest thing about the article is the part where Jeff is banging on about Loyality and how it's a big part of his life... Tell that to his "Mate" that he ask to take the blame for the watch theiving episode, loyalty at its finest.

Green has a little credibility,but Mundine has Zero Credibility both have a lot to answer for the way they have manipulated and sucked in a lot of adoring and deluded fans over the past few years,yep they have made a lot of money but to the knowledgable Boxing fans they are nothing but a sideshow and i assure you History will judge them harshly.!!!!
