Lets put it into perspective people. Roy Jones WAS an all time great boxer who has been shot to **** at the very top level for a good 4 years or so now ever since the Tarver and Glen Johnson brutal KO'S. It really annoys me that Danny Green has Roy's name on his resume and won't he ****ing milk it for all it's worth. Congradulations Danny you got a good win tonight but don't dare make us cringe with BS talk making it out to be one of the biggest wins an Australian has ever had in the boxing ring etc. YES it was a good win BUT Roy Jones has not been an A-level elite fighter for a long long time now. Anyone who knows anything about boxing knows that.

Props to Green. I didn't think he could do it. Thought Roy would easily UD him. Awesome job by Green shutting up his critics. Odds Mundine now starves himself for the rest of his career to avoid a rematch?..I'd give short odds on that

It was a good stoppage. Roy looked done from the KD, and I was a bit surprised he got up. He then threw nothing back and was still getting hit. Jones also didn't seem to complain much when the ref called it off.

I'm glad Green won, and hope it paves the way for another lucrative fight, but am a bit saddened by how humiliating a loss it was for Roy.

Jones had more than enough time to do something. He never threw another punch! Do you want him to leave in a coma before stopping it?

I actually thought it couldve been stopped earlier.

Apparently Willy Tom was talking to Jones 10-15 mins
after the fight and he was still out of sorts.

Justifys the stoppage and Green is a KO artist who
hits heavy, he isnt the type of bloke you let go to
town on an ATG 40 yr old for the sake of it.

Its just like the Shannon Taylor fight the other day against
Sherrington - only thing one was far more obvious, but when
you can see a guys done, save him the punishment.
Only difference is Green was just waiting for another head
shot and im glad they stopped it before he got it.

If Roy hadve been left in there, he wouldve been KOd possibly
worse than Ricky Hatton and knowone likes to see a legend of
the sport end up sprawled out on the canvas, good Reffing IMO.

Mate to be fair, look at Jones' past fights. Whenever he is pummeled he stands there with his guard up, doesnt mean he is getting hurt.

Anyhow, Im upset. Jones is a living legend and I will always have posters of him in my house, its not a good thing to see one of the greatest fighters that ever lived being stopped like that.

This is a strange one for me. going into the fight it just felt like they weren't there for a fight. Just didn't seem to be what it should have been..

Anyway, I think everyone's missing one simple thing - it was a stupid mistake off the bat. RJJ had his left hand down at all times. Idiot. Secondly, I think on any other night this fight doesn't play out like that. Normally that's not even a factor. If you win, you win, but to win this way - it's just not enough, and that's evident by how little credit Green is getting in the forum right now.

Anyway, deeply unsatisfying victory to me, that I hope at the very least gets a deeply satisfying match up featuring an Aussie (Green) against a big name athlete who he CAN actually get some credit for beating...

I'm a Brit who was at the Calzaghe-Jones fight and didn't enjoy it because of how shot Jones looked and knowing what he would have done to Joe had he been at his peak. Jones showed against Lacy he can still dominate at a certain level and I thought that would see him win tonight. This was just like Tarver/Johnson KOs - shocking loss to guy he would have played with years before. Really impressive for Green and hopefully it will boost boxing's profile in Australia.

Hope the talk of Hopkins fight doesn't go anywhere. Would be a big mistake...see Pavlik.
