Green KO Jones Round 1 Amazing !

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Peterp, Dec 2, 2009.

  1. I'm amazed that green predicted this from the start. And looking back at his recorded inteviews he truely believed this.

I know that boxers are meant to have that prediction, false or not but green had a lot of heart when saying this and seemd to truely believe the apparent impossible.

This is one of those great moments in Australian Sport and impossible is nothing.

Correct and i would predict even you to beat Jeff Lacy he is that ****. :D Jeff would probably still have enough left in the tank to beat me though. :D

Man wicked win for Greeny. Massive Green fan but I thought he was biting off more than he could chew with RJJ, so well done champ.

Its always sad seeing a legend go out like that, RJJ should take one more fight for his fans. Some handpicked opponent with a bad record he can fight in his hometown on the night he retires, I wouldn't like to see him go out on a first round stoppage like that.

I'll be following that Green guy's career from now on though. Who is there to fight at cruiserweight though? USS Cunningham is going up to heavyweight is he not?

yea thats what i was saying too.
fight in ur hometown somebody u can beat and then retire in an emotional sad farewell.

I was also surprised that he fell from that shot, as it looked like it barely connected flush.

who would have picked this result????

It was good to see Joe C resume take another dent tonight.

Joe was up against RJJs Corpse and his woofy little pitter patter punches couldnt do **** :fight

In steps Green with a bit of machoness to slap the Hoe out in a single round :yep

I thought the stoppage was poor last night when I watched it. On rewatching this morning a few more of the punches that I thought Jones had blocked got through and Jones wasn't reacting as well as a healthy fighter should have done. I still think the ref could have let it go on a bit longer (this is a world class fight after all, I've seen amateur fights that have been let go on longer with no one complaining) but I don't think it would have made the slightest bit of difference. Jones was done, his punch resistance is completely shot. Fair play to Green for doing it quicker then anyone else did, but Jones has been shot for years.

Lets not cheapen Greens great win by saying RJJ was shot :-(.......most people including me said "even a shot RJJ has more than enough to beat Green".

We all know RJJ is not at his best anymore......however RJJ is that good (even though hes only at 80%) he still beats most fighters.

Fact is Green smashed RJJ :deal
