    Im not a big fan of Green, but I will not discredit anything he achieved last night. Fair stoppage too. Good onya Green. B-Hop is all wrong for Green - and I see the fight being a hugfest on Bhops part...

    Well done Green, I didn't see a first round KO coming, good work :clap:

    Anyone else notice that straight right to the body is what initially shortened Jones up? It got his usual reaction of smiling in an effort to prove he didn't feel it, but it was that punch that got him retreating to the ropes and eventually the corner that it all ended in :yep

    To everyone refusing to give Green credit, or trying to undermine his win by saying Jones is shot - how about you honestly tell us what your pre-fight prediction was, and then STFU :yep

    Wow-wee, what a roller coaster ride for RJJ:

    Shot vs Calzaghe :think
    Bounced back vs Lacy :happy
    Shot for years vs Green :think

    How ****ing convenient for you revisionist ****s :nut

    :lol:

    Great win to Green.

    Wasn't the most impressive single punch knock-down ever landed - but it did the job none-the-less.

    Stoppage was fair and reasonable, and only saved RJJ from further pain and humiliation.

    The only roar at our pub bigger louder than the one for the girl carrying the US flag was when RJJ got decked, and then stopped.

    Short, but very sweet!

    I'm still not sure how to take last night, I mean good on Green for winning, and good luck to him from here. :good

    However I can't help feeling it's a bit of a hollow win because Jones isn't a shadow of his former self. I also think Jones underestimated Green.

    Green OTOH did the opposite and obviously took Jones very seriously and knew what needed to be done and then did it.
    As they say, Jones didn't see it coming, on many different levels.

    My first reaction whilst watching it last night was that it stunk of fixing. In hindsight, re-watching the fight this morning and reading what's being said here and there, I'm more confident in that it was all above board, I think. :think
    I guess there wouldn't be much in it for Jones if it was fixed. Everything for Green though, and nothings above the realm of possibility and it wouldn't be the first time. I guess that's just my sceptical nature showing. :lol:

    Overall, I was a bit disappointed in the duration of the fight, very surprised at the outcome (I tipped Jones), and it will be interesting to see where Green goes from here, in that will he really test himself against current prime A grade opposition. Or will he just go forward with the cash cow that is Green/Mandy II. :bart

    Don't jump down my throat here, it's just some random thoughts. :huh

    GReen is a kryptonite to a fighter like ROy because the man has legit one punch power.

    One punch to the neck that was it. If Jones got caught in his prime like that.THe same result.

    Congratz to Green..

    Fair & reasonable Sox, but as you said there's nothing in it whatsoever for Roy to throw the fight. It'll cost him Hopkins and $Mega for a start!

    Roy started as he normally does, and his jabs were sharp and accurate. Just seems his 40 year old head got shook by Danny right hand, and admittedly with a punch that didn't look the biggest or most accurate ever landed, and Roy just never recovered.

    Good posts all, I'm still not sure how I feel about this result. I'm really dissapointed that we didn't get to see some rounds played out. I'm an RJJ fan from way back and thought he'd win this easily, but I'm also a Perth boy so well done to Danny.

    It's going to be very interesting to see who he can fight from here. If he can notch up a win against another top LHW (see BHop, Dawson, Pascal) then I'll def pay him lots more respect

    Just stating a fact brother.

    Green will probably put an ass whoopin on Hopkins to put the final nail in Joe C's coffin :deal

    Can't understand why people get pre-occupied with trying to tarnish Calzaghe.

    * 46 - zip
    * 32 KO's
    * super middle champ in 4 different flavours
    * significant wins at light heavy
    * etc, etc.

    What's a bloke gotta do to receive the respect he deserves?

    An absolute dick on the main boxing forum reckons Green won using an illegal 'rabbit' punch - the only rabbit is the moron suggesting it!
