Green Tarver off!!! but guess what

Because he said it was Danny Green and he rushed off, maybe the conversation wasn't how it sounded but that doesn't change the fact of how i feel about the guy. Spouting off at the mouth about Mundine saying that he has the heart of a tic tac. Then when Mundine agreed to fight him his whole demeanor changed suddenly he didn't have much to say and that carried into the fight with mundine. Afterwards, Oh i had so much trouble making Super Middle despite the fact i weighed in comfortably at 75 when i was fighting beyer, yeah whatever dude. I used to be a fan of him when he wasn't a politician searching for votes from the WA public. If i spoke to Danny (maybe i am?) in person i would be respectful because that's the way i am, but i'm on a messageboard with fellow fans where i can say what my opinion is without worrying about hurting feelings, like it or not that's what happens on the internet.
And no i'm not jealous of Green in the slightest, i don't like him or his style. But i admit i get sick of hearing about him in the media and the glorified stories about him fighting for a 'world title' against ****ing tomato cans who get hyped up in the west australian in an attempt to give these rubbish fights credibility, it's the only boxing you hear about in the paper so every person here has such a narrow view of boxing and it disgusts me, that's not completely Greens fault but he contributes to it by talking up these people he's fighting, the public think he's being humble and a good sport but really he's building his little world in WA where he can make a mint fighting tomato cans, that's the way it is.
I've expressed my opinion on this, if people don't agree fine, maybe you've had different experiences or viewpoints, but from what i've seen and heard i stick by everything i've said and i hope he leaves boxing soon to work on the radio or television or whatever he'd be better suited to that because he's good at talking. Maybe he should become a Politician? He has the skills for that.

Edit: actually i can't be totally mad at green for how he promoted himself, when the mundine fight was coming up he managed to get the WA public thinking he was gonna win, So i put a pile of cash on Mundine to win at a great price. Thanks Danny!

 

Green v Tarver was never going to happen. The problem with Green is he is obsessed about promoting big fights and he has a tendency to promote them prematuraly. Does that story refer to a signed contract ?, because, ah, again I am not at all convinced Green v Drews is going to happen.

Great fight for Green. Nice to see an Aussie doing well. As an Englishman it is nice to see one of our subjects doing good.

 

I am happy for Green to get this title shot....Drews will be hard to beat but this looks like Greens best shot at a title. Drews beat Branco on points using that jab and looks like danny will get more of the same.

Briggs and Mundine must be licking their chops over their chance if Danny wins.

What's the matter? people know truth when they hear it. If i'm talking **** so be it. Sooner or later you'll realise Danny's a C grade fighter who talks too much. These stories are from people who have trained with him and grew up with him, when someone tells you something you ask yourself 'for what reason might this person be saying this?' and if the person has nothing to gain from it and they are telling you in a matter of fact way then you believe it. When you hear stories from different people that have the same theme to them then you know it. Danny Green's your hero not mine, i was gonna cheer for him against Tarver but i could give a **** about this fight.

 

TBH i've heard similar stories about Green's Ego. I have no vendetta against Green like haze does, but I do tend to agree with a lot of what he says.

That being said though, and I say this constantly on here, Green is an Aussie athlete fighting for our country and their out-of-ring personalities are irrelevant to me.

You can tell from looking at Green that he was a bully at school and life and has manufactured his image for the media. The trouble with what SHINER said is that it is totally true. Green would beat you up if you disrespected him. He is a thug.
He was best mates with Fenech and I wonder what they got up to in there free time.
His ego is all serious and there is no humour in the way he considers himself.

All that aside, he is a lousy robotic fighter and his next fight will be against a nobody in Perth in front of that mug crowd he has over there.
Two days ago you were all certain Green Terver was a goer, now you are accepting this new fight as gospil. Please. They do say a sucker is born every day...but ten of them??
