I drink a cup of it every morning about 10.30-11.00 o clock - dunno about speeding up recovery, but it's recommended as an energy booster before training. Supposed to be good at cleansing your body of toxins (as tea in general is), so I suppose it could assist in some way in getting rid of lactic acid?
One claim is that Green Tea helps the body use fat as the energy source and that speeds up the metabolism (just looked it up to make sure).
appetite suppressant (tbh never had an effect on me) anti-oxidants increases metabolism helps against tooth decay or something helps in some medical conditions And some other stuff, basically you should have something like 3-5 cups a day and it may help towards a healthier body
It contains a few anti oxidants, ECGC in particular. White tea has even more of them. If you want anti-oxidants though, there are better options that provide you with a lot more nutritional value than tea. Blackberries, raspberries, acai berries, elderberries, rose hip, buckthorn, etc. etc.. Anti-oxidants are everywhere. As a rule of fist: the deeper the color of a fruit, the more pigment, the more anti-oxidant. There are many more sources of anti-oxidants besides fruits. Nuts, seeds, vegetables, the list goes on and on. Some are fat soluble, some are water soluble. You need both, one protects against free radicals in the cellular membrane, the other one inside the cell itself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_radical_absorbance_capacity
Caffeine vs Anti Oxidant. Semantic really. Depends on diet and routine. Caffeine is good in small measure aswell as boosting your metabolism and restinig heart rate. But both have diffrent effects so there not comparable other than being refreshment!:yep
yes green tea is really good for you, go through tonnes of the stuff in a day. but when (and IF) you buy some, look at the box and try find some caffeine free green tea. its actually pretty nice (well i think so anyway)
