He's fighting, staying busy and you're right I can't knock him for that, and I'm not really, I just think it's obvious as anything that by fighting these opponents he isn't doing himself any favours. I think the fact that this would be Green's "last performance against Mundine" could be good for him. It would certaintly get the fire back in the belly and you'd know he would be putting in 110% to ensure he gave it one last crack. But with all that said, and Mundine's fight hype aside, The Man is a good talent (a wasted one as of late imo) and he definatley had Green's measure at 168, but at 175 I think it could be a bit of a different story, especially if Mundine comes up from 160. I'm not against a second fight at all, I think it's good for Australian boxing exposure and if they can repeat the hype job from the first fight (which was pretty good imo, even I got sucked in) then it could be something to look forward to.
I agree, I think Green is a much more 'live' opponent in a rematch at 175 given Mundine's appearance, performance, and choice of opponent of late. I also think Green would go in a lot more confident having seen Mundine's decline of late, and he would also be well rested and at his optimum weight - he looked haggard in their first fight. He would also have the motivation, having lost already to Mundine. I would watch it, if only for the chance of seeing Mundine laid out cold by one of Green's left hooks or overhand rights :yep If the likes of Crazy Bing Lee can drop Mundine, then Green can stop him, especially at 175.
Yeah, and he's kind of got this reverse Michael Jackson thing going on, those big freckly patches appearing on his cheeks...wtf is that?
It will be the same as the 1st fight, Green simply won't catch Mandy over 12 rds. Greens last performance against Drews was dismal & I agree, Garay would of beaten him if they fought. Both fighters are on the decline bigtme.
I just dont know if the fight will earn $5M for Green plus all of the other costs :huh ....Its not going to be nearly as big as the first fight. I thought Mundine VS Taylor was on early next year as was AA VS Sturm. Mundine then fights for the vacant paper strap at MW mid year and then he is expected to jump up 2 divisions to fight Green end of 2009.......dont know about this.
Yes if Green wins. No if Mundine wins. Seriously, I don't want it, nor do I not want it. I don't see too much problem with it.
its a fight many on this forum wouldnt care about but joe public who believe mundine is a 2 time world champion and danny actually fought in a fair dinkum fight to win a world title will all be eating it up getting caught up in the pre fight hype argueing in pubs and clubs saying **** to sound knowledgable"this time danny wont have to lose 3kg of muscle mass to make weight he will smash him this time" and it will be on at every pub and club. and yet again mundine will put back his taking on the world plan and danny will be breaking the promise he made to his father on his documentary.they will still make money out of this.
As a boxing fan i don't want to see this fight. I would much rather see Mundine fight Sturm at 160 or even Geale or Bika than a second fight with Green. I would think most fight fans would probably agree.
I agree wholehartedly. Would love to think Danny had a chance, and his appearance on the dance show may well be to broaden his audience for another crack at Mundine, but I think he'll just get outclassed again.
