Thank god this fight finally got signed.
Should be a good stoush really looking forward to heading up to Star city casino for a few days they do a great job at promoting and hyping fights up to the general public with the press confrence's and weigh ins always drawing a good crowd.
It will also be interesting what odds some American sites like 5 dimes put up for the fight.

Best of luck to Danny. But I can't get motivated to see this.

But before the actual fight happens let me state...its obvious it won't be at 200lbs, the fight will be rigged, and...I'm betting on Tarver...because I need some new shoes.

This wont be at 200LB, Tarver usually fights at 175LB, 180LB being the most he has come in at when he was active and in his prime. He Lost UD against Dawson twice then didnt fight for about 17 months and when he did he decide to fight again it was at 232LB and he hasnt fought since that fight which was 6 months ago. I will be suprized if this is 200LB, soon see when Tarver gets on the scales but then if he is under the 200LB people will just say that he usually fights at 175-180LB anyways, which suits Dannys secret Dannyweight contractual terms nicely, who would even think to question it.

To be completely honest, I'd rather see Tarver at 185-195lbs anyway. He looked as big as a house against Aguilera. Under the Cruiserweight limit is a good weight for him.

I agree but it also depends if he makes weight correctly or cooks himself into making Dannyweight.

I don't think he'll cook himself mate. He's got heaps of time to prepare. He's been around the traps, so he'll do it correctly.

This is a guy that Dannyweight might suit down to the ground, and he's got 14 weeks to get there.

This fight has a lot of potential, and brings another big name to Australia - and sadly we don't see enough of them here.

Put it this way, if he didn't come in at 185-195lbs, I'd be a bit disappointed. It would easily be his most effective weight for the fight. We'll find out soon enough I guess.

3 months and 2 weeks is not that much time to drop a hight amount of weight and regain strength etc. If Tarver is walking around at 232LB which is what he last fought at 6 months ago, and Dannyweight contractual terms is 180LB then he has to drop about 24kg in 14 weeks.

As you know, the safe target line for dropping weight is 1kg per week. Tarver doesnt have enough time and imo will be coooking himself to make Dannyweight. Do the math you will come up with the same, unless of course Tarver is walking around under what he last fought at, which i highly doubt.

His last fighting weight was actually 221lbs or 100.5kg. If he's to get to say 185lbs or 84.1kg, I think he'd do it easily.

Here's a pic from his Heavyweight fight... I don't think he did too much road work.

I was looking at his opponents weight, i always bloody do that :patsch

So he has 16kg to drop in 14 weeks, not that bad IF he is 220LB right now and isnt 230+LB, its hard to say without knowing his current weight.

He really should be allowed to come in at the 200LB limit, given that he is at the end of his career and his last fight was at 220LB i dont see why he would come in under 200LB unless it was stipulated in the contract. However given what Danny did to BJ i think its safe to say it WONT be at 200LB, which takes a bit of the taste from my mouth in terms of this match up.
