Well he's 35 and ranked 511 so I don't think he's the next big thing but at least he's having a go. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=607597&cat=boxer
Just like mandy, Green cherry picks his opponents & I wish people would stop giving him credit for fighting Tarver & Wlod........he cherry picked both because he thought Tarver was old & shot & he picked Wlod after he tried to commit suicide.........and it backfired bigtime.....now he cherry picks Santiago cause he knows its a safe win.......the sooner these two frauds **** off to the dairy farm as milkers the better Oz boxing will be.
**** me you really think he cherry picked the WBC champion in his last fight because he thought it would be an easy winatsch Especially after a lot of ****s said he'd never fight for a genuine title at cruiserweight. As for the Santiago fight of course hes been selected as an opponent that Greeny knows he can beat but since he's been beaten in his last 2 fights theres nothing wrong in taking on a tune up to see how he goes at the lighter weight. If things go well there could be a big fight in Nov-dec on the east coast.
its called a tuneup fight for a reason mate. nobody is under any illusions that this is a big fight on the scene, it's simply a tester to see if he can get down in weight and sentimentally its a big fight as it is his last in perth. If you can give him credit for fighting tarver and wlod then that is your perrogative but theres no need to begrudge others who do. And if you really think oz boxing is going to thrive without either of these guys then you are delusional imo, for the casual fan these two are australian boxing
hahaha yeah his ship might have sailed i think! its a pretty average undercard but i can see cronje and siale being a war
Could be interesting to see how Brandon Ogilvie debuts from the Amateur ranks at 18 yrs of age. Just missed olympic quals and highly rated by a few http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sp...-provides-stage-for-promising-young-fighters/
Take a look at who Green fought after each of his KO losses and then take a look at who Mundine fought after his. I agree that Green has taken Mundine's path of least resistance over the past few years, but his level of opposition is much better than Mundine's ever was.
Gt fct library cnt. The past few years Green's have been better. That is, the past few years where he's followed Mandy's lead and chosen the path of least resistance, his opp has been better than Mandy's.
Good to have the abuse back I dunno mate, its like comparing dog **** to horse ****.... Yeah lately Greenys have been better I'd agree with that but over their whole careers im not too sure
In my opinion, they've both been milking the aussie boxing public dry for ages...but Mandy's been doing it for longer than Green. Also, take into account the fact that Green was placing himself at more risk than Mundine fighting bigger blokes at CW or Dannyweight or whatever you want to call it, while Mundine boiled himself down in an effort to bully blokes smaller than him at MW and LMW. You can talk about Green "cherrypicking" Tarver and Wlod at CW and it backfiring on him, but the biggest backfire would have to be Mundine getting Garth Wood (lol) onto The Contender as a late replacement, bodgying up the decisions so he won the gig, paying him another $100k to come down to MW from SMW for their fight, and then getting KTFO by him
