BJ was very disappointing. Did more posing then punching. Danny was obviously bothered by BJ's size but I must give credit were credits due, he fought well enough to get a win against a much bigger opponent. Green going forward has to absolutely forgot about Huck or any semi legitimate CW if he wants to keep his meaningless title. As I said, the size seemed to bother Danny a great deal but got the win because BJ seemed content to pose. A guy the size of BJ who has skills and is coming to fight would easily beat Danny in my opinion. If he wants to be on the world scene he needs to go back to LHW, or he can and probably will stay at CW and continue to be paid handsomely by the adoring Perth and Australian public.
Green won by a large margin effectively out punching and controlling Flores all night. Flores was scared of Green from the get go and refused to fight. I honestly think if he stepped on the gas more Flores would have frustrated Green out of his game plan. A game plan that turned out to be perfect. Green clearly won atleast 8 rounds and the closer ones could easily go his way. How can you say Flores was even close to winning that fight?? You have to fight to win a fight and Flores just stood there, looking menacing and coming forward to do diddly squat apart from jab (missing most of the time) then left hook. Green got caught a few times but jabbed his way to a win by wide margin.
TCBoxa - can you show us more shots of BJ's girlfriend............... ****'n smoking hot :good She was well received by the bogans in Perth no doubt.
I think you are letting the ridiculous commentary cloud your analysis of the fight in the opposite direction. A draw is a farce of a score and no one who is apt at scoring effective punches landed would see it that way (anymore than 4 rounds to Flores would be dodgy). Occasionally we see a fight thats relatively competitive but one man consistently does too little to take rounds, this was one of them. Don't give me bull**** about bias because i don't like Green and would have liked to see him get flattened.
Im a bit pissed right now mate, just about to try make it to the toilet without stumbling into da walls .. i got her name when they mention it, i posted it in here somewhere, just grab the name and throw it into google then hit the pictures link above or the video link and it will give you search results for pictures labled in her name or videos. What you do from there is your own bussiness old fella hahahaha :good edit, here u go KEL... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268499
Rematch?? Give Flores an 8 round warm up bout and Danny will need a 3rd match to retrieve the IBOwout Cwuiser crown. Both guys preserved themselves a little too well throughout. A rematch would definately be colourful. Bring it on. Aside from myself, BJ's lady is the most amazing thing on this planet.
Well that bored the **** out of me. What do you do when neither bloke looks like they want to fight? Makes me respect Margarito's performance even more, he got the **** smacked out of him but at least he kept throwing. So much for Green fighting a live body...zzzzzzzzzzzz
The most entertaining part of that fight was when BJ tried to climb the ropes in celebration and failed like ****.
Danny Green edged it close (about 7-5) i thought from ringside, & many around me felt it was very tight also. No one i spoke to saw it as wide as 9-3 or 10-2.
to me it showed that danny can box and edge out a much bigger guy, and whenever bj landed a big punch danny shrugged it off, was a good defense imo and a bit of a strategic nuance. everybody expected bj to outbox danny but danny outboxed bj against the ropes every time bj threw a punch he was scared of that left jab. not the most entertaining fight but a solid defense. congrats danny!
Green did what was needed to win, but the "outboxing a boxer" praise is a bit overboard. They swapped roles, and Green simply adapted to his new role better. Flores is usually a counter-puncher. He clearly wasn't comfortable leading and did a pretty **** job at cutting the ring off and forcing the action. This is no indication that Green wouldn't be devoured alive by someone like Cunningham boxing him true to form (as Flores didn't). Flores was the bigger and stronger man and standing up to a few of his right hands was respectable, but in the grand scheme Flores is somewhat feather-fisted compared to some of the real sluggers at Cruiserweight. Lebedev, Huck, and the like would not need to land very much neatly to really have Danny in trouble. The commentators seemed to feel this was a terrific weight for Green. I disagree. If he's at all able to make 175 without going bulimic, that's his best bet at pulling down any more quality wins as his thirties (and career) wind down. It's a much thinner division at the very top, so he could even stance some chance at a "real" world title, as opposed to just the IBO. At 200 he has no chance whatsoever. He can continue to defend against the likes of Cameron, but nobody outside legion yobs on his own continent will notice or care.
