Just read this on another website:-

8CN – When you fought Danny Green it appeared as if he hit you right behind the ear. Was that why it was so difficult for you to recover from that shot?

RJJ – Yea, he caught me perfectly right behind the ear. The whole thing with that fight was the hand wraps. They let the guy have 5 layers of hand wraps, illegally. You can't use that much in a boxing match and he knows it. There were a lot of things that he did that was illegal with his hand wraps. If he's going to use a cast, then let me use one too. I don't mind a cast, but let me have one too.

8CN – Wasn't the commission watching the wrapping going on?

RJJ – That's what I am saying, my people were opposing what they were seeing. They were watching him get his hands wrapped. He wrapped two hours early for one. Then they told me that if I didn't come out and fight they would disqualify me. The commission told my guy that he's sorry but they are not going to make him re wrap his hands. They told me if I didn't fight that I would be disqualified.

8CN – What's the latest on the appeal?

RJJ – They just had the motion on the appeal the other day so there will be a hearing soon. Everything about that was illegal. They told me if I didn't come out they would disqualify me. How could I get out of Australia if I didn't come out and fight? What was I supposed to do? He cheated, the hand wraps was illegal. Next time we fight let me have a cast too.

    8CN – Will there be a rematch?

RJJ – Yes, there is a rematch clause in the contract. I wouldn't have went down there if there wasn't a rematch clause. He fights one interim fight, and I fight an interim fight, (Hopkins) then I go back down for the rematch.

Hopefully Roy puts in a good performance against BHOP and comes back down.

P.S Who's Danny fighting in the interim?? I know Briggs is probably 6 months away.

Man, I hope RJJ is only saying this rubbish to create interest in a rematch with Green :-(

    What a wanker otherwise.

If they do rematch, the only difference will be RJJ will stay away from Green for 12 rounds. He's tasted his power - legal power, and he damn well knows it was all legit - and he will be gunshy.

The Hopkins fight result doesn't matter, I mean, RJJ had to beat Green to be able to fight Hopkins, but that didn't seem to matter once the result came through :yep

PS - Green beats Hopkins on points in a boring rematch in which RJJ fights scared.

If RJJ loses to Hopkins, particularly if it's by KO, he ought to forget about Green and give it away completely.

Rematch clauses are pretty meaningless these days (example: there was one in the Geale v Mundine contract, plus there was the mandatory finding by WBO, but a rematch - don't hold your breath!)

i think jones will be too slick for hopkins anyway.

a green v jones rematch is not a bad idea, however if jones is ko'd by hopkins then it shouldn't go ahead.

the problem for jones in a rematch is he would be very tentitive in the ring and it could become a bit of a boring fight while it lasts if green does ko him again.

Roy is a big fat sook. I have lost any remaining respect I had for him.
If it was really that bad with the wraps he should have said "I'm not going to fight because of the illegal hand wraps" It would have been much easier to establish if something was fishy then, and I do not expect anything will come of the appeal - which he will then use as an excuse not to rematch
As for a rematch, bring it on. I'm suure it will last longer, and I hope for Roy he remembers not to turn away and to protect himself at all times. I can't believe I have useful advice for RJJ. . .surreal!

    Bring on the rematch.

Hopefully the knockout blow from Green this time is an open handed bitchslap.

That's all RJJ deserves to send him into a retirement village.

Its great news that Green has RJJ win on his resume....even if hes past it.....2 wins would be even better.....however if RJJ loses bad against BHOP then he should give it away.

If, and its a big if............if Roy somehow managed to beat Hopkins then yes I'd like to see a rematch with Danny. But like I said its a big if!
