I dont know who this Danial fella is but Wikipedia says he was born in 91 which makes him about 20

Dont even compare AFL or Rugby to boxing, team sports are fun, i know heaps of blokes who played park footy into their mid to late 30's but boxing, in a professional sense just cant be fun, theres no logical way of reasoning that a sane man would enjoy punching & getting punched risking life & limb for little reward

yeah no worries mate i just know when people start mentioning family some others can take it too far, no problems.
Yeah i can see both sides of the coin , i guess it all just depends who you are a fan of.

I dont think that many would last fighting just for the money

You need to have a love for the sport.

Plenty would fight for peanuts if it meant fighting for a real world title

dont get me wrong money plays a huge part of it

but without the love of the sport you wouldn't be in a position to have a big money fight

Some of what you're saying is true, and couldn't be disputed, however a lot of it is just your opinion.

A lot of fighters would still be there is the money wasn't big.
People enjoy different things, and I can't work out why a fighter wants to get in the ring and potentially have him beaten to a pulp. I can respect that they like fighting though.

I like riding motoX, heaps of people don't.
Some people like climbing buildings, I don't.
    I like squash, some don't.
Some like white water rafting, I don't.

We all enjoy different things, so to say blokes for peanuts in clubs have a few screws loose is very narrow minded. Sure, I wouldn't do it, and clearly you wouldn't, however some obviously love it.

Anyway, I understand you don't care what Green does, and to a point, I don't either, but that's because I'm not a real fan of Green.
My point was that if fighters want to be taken seriously, they need to be fair dinkum.

nah he wouldnt but i just find as soon as a persons family gets mentioned then some other poster see it as a green light to go nuts and take it too far. Just wanting to put a stop to it before it begins thats all

I'm not a fan of any boxers for what they achieve in the ring, i'm a fan of boxers who beat the odds & come out with their senses intact & some wealth to show for it :good

    my bad was ian callihan.
oscer de la hoya has recently been quoted as saying he misses the thrill of the ring and has had to search for other things to fill the void also contemplated returning and he does not need the cash same could be said morales among many others. Its true there does come a time wen u loose the heart for it and thats the same in anything. And obviously getting punished fight in fight out might give u seconds thoughts but wat ur suggesting isnt the whole truth.

im not a pro and obviously havent been in the wars that most pros or ams have but i enjoy it, i get a thrill wen i pull things of and getting hit only drives me to become better.

Oh well, we see it quite different then.
I prefer to see great achievement winning real titles, good resume, good character, etc.
If they make decent coin in the process (and of course have their senses intact), well, that's just a bonus in my eyes.

    I don't think I'm a minority.

But fellas its what makes boxing so great. Of course its about money.

Its the big stage, thats what the fighters want. And the big money means the big stage.
