As an Englishman living here now. I would say Green is typical of many white Aussie fighters in that he is incredibly physically tough but with very poor footwork. Modern day white English fighters are nowhere near as tough on average I believe (Mitchell-Katsidis showed this, Hatton was an exception) but are better technically. I saw James Giltrow at the weekend and he exemplified this. From what I've seen Will Tomlinson may be a cut above. Looks like a more technical Katsidis. For what its worth I just thought Green against Tarver looked like his health problems had ebbed away at his physical toughness. Without this and very poor technique, he is almost reduced to being a game punchbag at world level. I don't see how this changes if Wlodarczyck comes into the ring in decent physical and mental shape.
Association football, you stupid ****ing ****. While I don't agree with Gav's opinion on soccer, you're a ****ing dickhead. PS - who wants to suck my ****?
Main thing with Tarver v Green is tarver being a south paw with reach and using it to his advantage, Green style is taylor made for it, yet against a righty Green is a chance with virtually anyone.
Gee why are you so upset. :|:|:| Did Danny Green fail to sign an autograph for you. :yep People use the term soccer to downgrade football when they follow other codes and can't accept that it is the number one sport in the world.
Man Utd, and have so since '78/'79, must have been the only kid back then to get 'Roy of the Rovers' every week (three months behind). Unfortunately only have seen them live once, in '84 vs Notts Forest at the 'G in a pre season warm up. Also follow Celtic but not with as much passion as yourself.
We are lucky these days to be able to watch football from overseas on TV / internet when years ago a kid in Australia only had the option to watch the Australian codes + cricket. Who are the top few players you enjoyed watching in a Man U shirt over the years leon ? What manager do you see taking over from Sir Alex when he retires ?
I started as a goalkeeper so my first favourite was Gorden Bailey who still has made some of the most amazing saves I've ever seen, and my first outfield player I followed was sammy McIllroy. Over the years have had a soft spot for Norman Whiteside, Lee Sharpe and Giggs, but my favourite is and probably will be forever, Cantona, a talisman for the club.
