I have no role at all.

I write occasional articles for the Fist and as stated, only one has ever been about Green, and that was more to do with behind the scenes of the Green-Flores fight. I've never been asked to write about any topic, I come up with the ideas myself and follow them up.

I understand Francis that some people aren't Green fans. Thats fine. I'm not a Mundine fan and definitely not a fan of his bluster but I do understand that its mostly a front and away from the camera's by all accounts he's a very genuine and humble guy. What I don't understand about that is why he doesn't show that side.

The thing I do appreciate about Green is the opportunities and chances he has provided to local fighters on his undercards. Guys like Tomlinson, Cronje, Ben Rabah are getting valuable exposure and fights that they simply would not get if Green wasn't fighting. And in the long tun thats good for the future of Australian boxing. Ergo Tomlinson is now fighting for an IBO title on this next card.

This next card has 3 world title fights on it, and yes, I know how you feel about the IBO but thats something thats pretty rare around the world nowadays, 3 world titles on the one show. People may also rubbish Chris Johns choice of opponent, I know for a fact he was about the fourth choice, unfortunately putting together a card as never as easy as saying A will fight B, theres a lot of things that can and usually will go wrong. Never the less it's an opportunity to see live one of boxings longest reigning world champs in the flesh. And having watched a lot of Wlodarczyk over the last few months I think this is by no means an easy night for Danny, and in the least he should be acknowledged for stepping up against a real, live beltholder from one of the big three.

Hey you don't like Green, thats fine. But do you really need to throw up lies about what weight the fight will be at? I know, for a FACT, that this fight will be at the full Cruiser limit.

You get the feeling here that if a card was put on with Corrales-Castillo I, Vazquez-Marquez III and Ali-Frazier III on it somebody would still be sniping about it.

Australian boxing isn't the healthiest beast at times but it seems lately theres just too many people prepared to take a kick at it and not offer any solutions or positive input at all.

I don't advocate blindly following all Australian fighters, healthy debate is of course always welcome but the amount of sniping and pot shots lately is getting tiresome and boring, especially when some of the usual suspects cannot and will not venture from behind their keyboards.

Leon if Danny beats Wlod for the WBC belt can you confirm that he will defend it at least once against a top contender ?

Seeing as I have no role at all with GMP (see first sentence) I don't see how I can.

Fark you cry about anything related to Green fran :|

He is fighting a legit and proven champion for the 2nd most prestigious title in boxing (After Ring IMO).

He isnt fighting a nobody for a vacant title, or a bum for a secondary or interim title. If he was fighting somebody for the WBC silver title and claiming to the public he is champion, i would understand your pain and furstration.

I dont see why you continue to cry everyday no stop about him. He is fighting the champion, enough said, please find something else to whinge about mate :gsg

Thanks for clearing a few things up. The 192 pound rumour is obviously complete and utter fabrication.

Honestly Francis, I have no idea.

I didn't think he'd fight on after the Tarver fight. And then when they announced this latest fight I was sure it was going to be Cameron.

If he did retire after this fight I certainly wouldn't hold it against him. Not too many fighters leave with both some dollars and their senses intact.

Be honest if Mundine was fighting a guy on anti-depressants,who has marital, money problems and tried to kill himself although it was probably attention seeking you would be slamming him even if he was the champion. Plus Greens fight history post RJJ is abysmal.
Except Tarver who he thought was shot.

The thing with that Stiffy, Mundine wouldnt fight a real champion, has yet to fight a real champion and when challanged by someone like Kessler for a rematch he ran. If choc was in Danny's position he wouldnt have even lined up the fight with the pole, he would have called out Huck and Cunningham and then would have gone on to fight some Argie Cab driver or another crazy Kim.

If Choc takes on a legit champion (WBA super, WBC, WBO or IBF) in any division i will eat my words and my hand :deal

    Thanks Whopper

No i dont regard Trout as a true champion, being the "regular" champion is exactly that, regular. If anything Trout is simply the mandatory challanger to cotto, if the WBA inforced their rules.

If he fights Cotto, that would be facing a real champion. :thumbsup
