I read that too. I'm dumbfounded as to why Mundine is desperately seeking this rematch. If I was Green I'd take the cash and enjoy a 12 round facial massage from Mundine's pitter patter punches.
I thought when Green retired he said he had made enough money, and as if Mundine is going to be candid about how much money he makes. He makes plenty, why do you think he doesn't challenge himself?
Pitter Patter punches, you should rewatch the first fight, Mundine sent down some bloody stoinkers in that fight. He would have stopped alot of ppl that night He's desperately chasing it cause of the money that is to be made. Noone else would generate that much for him.
For Fu*ks sake - been there done that - go and fry bigger fish like Sturm (or at least try) - I'm getting sick of waiting for you to back up your words and undoubted talent, wasting your prime on easybeats.
Mate, Im sure you'd do it for a lazy Million. The only pain felt in being KO'd is in the pride. An easy way to one Mil. Plus, the option of making that money in 5 seconds, 30 seconds, or 2 minutes is up to you. :good
Perhaps, but this is boxing and anything could happen. However, my concern was more in response to one of Green's reasons for retiring - finishing on top and with his healt in tact. Would hate to see him boil back to SMW and end up like the he did in the Sullivan fight. But I'm sure this fight would only take place at 175, so 9 times out of 10 you are probably right, I agree. I can't remeber the exact figures, but I'm pretty sure he was the highest earning Australian sportsman that year, my memory is telling me about 8 million, and Green was rated like 11 with 5.6 million or something. Then again, I quite possibly read that in ZOO magazine and the only reliable thing to look at in that magazine is the skirt.
I really dont want this fight to happen. If it does, it says (once and for all) that Mundine isnt interested in a genuine world title. So that being said, i'd be going for Green by savage KO. I went for Mundine hard in the first fight, thinking he'll offer us so much more, but it hasnt happened.
Spot on mate , Mandy goes well by not having to step up , he can earn enough off the nimrods shelling out serious PPV $'s watcing him bash up the Chong Lee's of the world ( no dis intended Rick ) :deal
And Mundine has aged like Patrick Swayze since that fight. Face it teke, Ritchie Benaud farting on your face would probably throw you back more than a Mundine right these days.
Guys... assuming Green does make a comeback... fights a few guys, potentially taken from the welfare office, and kicks some early goals.. Does a second loss to Mundine give reason to dismiss his original praises... Surely, Danny has done enough to retain credibility.. and may rest on his lourals... The thought of him returning, farcically, can only do damage to his rep. ... not his wallet... Carruthers destroyed his own place in WORLD boxing accolades, by a **** poor return... 7 years later.. Money is a powerful thing... and worth chasing... $5 mil... anyone would risk 'enshrinement in legend' for that.. Hopefully Green is well remembered via our own mouths in the future, for the positives.
Not good work wise, will probably be heading home in around a month or so. Apart from that, it's been great, and I've had the best pick ups in my life in the last few months.
Green will always be remembered for being a world class L/Heavy , i was a bit disapointed he never defended his GENUINE WBA title but hey like you said AU$ 5 mill is a lot of money and due to Mundines recent level of opponent its not as if Greenie is going to get smashed up earning said 5 mill is it ? Greenie knows he was given a god given talent and will cash in imho.
