I honestly didn't think he wld get jail time. Australia is pretty **** weak when it comes to sentencing, looks like i was wrong.

 

Actually to tell you the truth that certainly irks me that he is going to gaol and so many worse crims dont get jack.

 

I dont know mate.....glassing a woman in the face is pretty bad......he would been "sent off' for longer if his girlfriend was pressing charges.

Former Cronulla player Greg Bird bailed ahead of sentence appeal hearing

Former NRL star Greg Bird has been granted bail pending his appeal against his eight month jail term for glassing his American girlfriend.
In Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Monday, Magistrate Roger Clisdell sentenced Bird to a minimum of eight months in prison for the attack on Milligan.

 

100% mate...Its not the fact he doesnt deserve it, its fact that so many others that do aswell..have escaped justice for bull**** reasons.

 

Good job I say! Time that the law showed these NRL "stars" that they to are human and because of there name n fame they are not higher than the law! Yes others do get away because of stupid reasons................however Bird is low life scum no matter how drunk you were to glass a female (let alone anyone) then ask a "mate" to take the rap for you is SCUMBAG material! Hopefully the 8 months straightens him out and he can come back and have a succesful career I dont want to deny anyone redemption but as it stands he's scum until he proves otherwise!

 

if it was todd mckenney hed probably get a public holiday in his honour..
