Squandered earnings? I know he was in some kind of dispute with King at one point.

NO... That was Tim Spoon..... Spoon threatened King to a court room..... King went ahead and paid Spoon a cool million bucks on the side to settle the dispute:bbb

I was with Greg for two of his latter year fights.. His loss to Razor Ruddock where he did have a lively period in the fight and nearly make a few waves.. I saw him box a main event in 1993 May 7th i think at the old Sands hotel.. where he outpointed a sluggish Mike Faulkener, and he boxed a draw with the promising heavyweight Jerry Ballard who is also no longer with us due to a stabbing in Baltimore.......... Greg was a talented guy....

greg took some bombs from ruddock....while he was well past his prime he hung tough with ruddock up until the 9th round i believe...... i would have loved to see a Page vs Holmes match up in the 80s

Poor Greg Page pissed away his prime years. He had tons of natural talent but ate himself out of his best years. We will never know how good Page could have been, good enough that Larry Holmes avoided him, giving up his WBC title (while keeping the IBF).

Fond as I was of Greg Page, I find it hard to believe Larry Holmes was in any way afraid of him.

I will never forget the headline on a copy of ring magazine , a Greg Page Quote.... with a massive photo of Greg holding up a fist.. To Larry Holmes.. You are a chicken livered coward.. It always makes me laugh.....

Greg was one thing... He was HONEST...... i once was stood outside the Sands waiting to go talk to greg before he was boxing on Don King Main event.. I ran into Greg and said , Hey Greg, Who are you boxing this afternoon.. He answered , King can't find anyone that i can beat ... he winked.... I loved Greg he knew when his time was up and basically boxed for cash... and just loved being centre stage .. In his day Greg was a multi talented heavyweight ..... that fight actually brought out everyone who was in town even though it was just Greg fighting some Clown from Tennessee.... in attendence was ,...

Alex Garcia, Roger and Floyd Mayweather sr, JC Chavez, TNT Tucker, Meldrick Taylor, Lennox Lewis, Jerry Quarry, James Broad, Frank Randall, Gerald McClelland, Eddie Futch, Lou Savarese, Don King, Julian Jackson, Ace Marrotta, Levi Billups, Jeremy Williams, Harold Brazier.. and Lonnie Smith... Greg was a well liked man and always had friends around him ........ He would have missed that if he quit , he was drawn to the ring for life....
