Update on Forrest Griffin (who was absent from the post-fight press conference) from the UG:
"I heard his jaw was dislocated very early in the fight…then he took several more punches to the jaw. Apparently he can’t hear out of the ear on that side either. He left the octagon because he needed medical attention asap. At first they thought his jaw was broken, then said it was dislocated."

That explains why he looked so odd. I knew there was a good reason. Anderson really knocked the **** out of him to do that much damage. Forrest at least tried to fight on with that injury. Ouch.

That would explain why he get drop so easily and wasn't as aggressive. If this is true, I take back what I say about Griffin, feel bad for him.

anderson has some serious ****in power and incredible precision. he only hit him a few times and not only broke his jaw (i think with the first punch), but knocked him out as well. well not completely out, but good enough.

It's hardly surprising. That jab would've felled an elephant

That would explain why something that looked as innocent as a jab finished him off. He was probably in severe pain..and that punch must have hurt like hell, no matter how much power was behind it.

A straight jab may look innocent but as we all saw if it is timed correctly it can be devastating. Forrest comes in with his jaw up in the air where it is "boxing 101" to keep it tucked in.

I was just a little off on this one. I didn't think Silva had that much still going for him. Forrest looked as bad as Irwin; that was just too damn easy.

Oh yeah. That would hurt more than a normal KTFO type KO.

Dislocated Jaw is no joke. Tough ******* i say.

There is speculation saying that his jaw isn't broken, Sherdog has the link and I am too lazy to go get it

But who knows which is true, Forrest got owned and I wouldn't be surprised if he received some sort of injury.

I'm actually glad to hear that's all it was. When I seen the fight, I just thought Forrest had fallen into that same category as Liddell and Wandy, great fighters that have taken too many devastating kos to be fighting. Forrest could come back from this.
As for Silva, he seems like he carries more power with the extra weight and is even more dangerous.
