Griffin got stopped by an almost nothing punch from Silvia. Will he win a rematch over past his prime Ortiz?
I think Tito's taking it, but people have written Forrest off before. He was given little to no chance against Shogun or Rampage, and did well against Evans for the most part. Personally, however, I think Tito's taking this one since his back is healed and his training seems to be going extremely well.
If Tito is healthy then he whoops him IMO. Especially if he gets it to the ground, Forrest has a very weak defensive guard he cant control posture and takes WAYYY to much GNP. Tito eats him alive with elbows agian but this time he doesnt have a bad back and ACL and will fight a full 15 minutes.
Yes, well "almost nothing" punches tend to stop fights when thrown by Anderson Silva and when they come after dropping the guy twice and clipping him hard several other times. It wasn't that weak of a punch either, he put it right on the chin.
Yeah people tend to just look at the KO punch. There was that orginal beautiful right hook KD then enough combo put him down so by the time the jab hit the guy had one foot in the grave basically.
How much do you think his back problems come into play throughout his career, if it has actually been slowing him down since the Couture fight? Could we have seen a different outcome against Rashad and Machida if his back was at 100%? I know personally I have had bad back pains myself and it seems to dribble out the rest of your body's performances at times, so I can only imagine what it would have done to somebody who fights and at top level non the less.
If Ortiz can bring Griffin down when he wants, he will TKO him with his GnP. Griffin's guard got ****ed bad in the ass in the first round of their fight.
If Tito's health problems are better, he destroys Griffin. The only reason it was close the first time is because Tito gassed, and couldn't push the pace due to injuries suffered prior to the fight.
Im not sure it played a big role in the Machida fight because he couldnt close the distance at all. Tito beat Rashad but the point deduction makes it a draw IMO if Tito's back was closer to 100 percent then that big slam that Rashad stole the 3rd round with doesnt happen.
As long as Tito has the cardio to put the fight in his world for 3 rounds he'll dominate and win. He might even stop Griffin
The great thing about this match-up is neither have ever lost to anything short of very good/great fighters. So both are live, even somewhat shot and inactive or coming off a bad skid.
If griffin can keep this fight standing then i give him a good chance of winning. I think he needs to work on takedown defense more for this fight cuz tito for sure wants this fight on the ground.
