Where would Luis Rodriguez stand today in a p4p sense if the judges favoured him in his fights with Griffith?

Has Rodriguez been overlooked because of the arbitrariness of the judges' scorecards? He lost the series to Griffith 3-1, but that could easily have been 3-1 Rodriguez's way.

If he did actually come off 3-1 against Griffith, where would he rate today?

You would have to think he'd be given more consideration as a great fighter. It seems that he is dismissed when talking about teh greats, which is a shame. IMO he gives any welter in history a tough go.
I haven't seen the third fight or forth fights w/ Griffith, I'd love to see the third (don't know if the forth is available)
I really like Rodriguez's style in the ring, and he isn't given the credit he deserves. Cheers, SS.

His resume is outstanding anyway ,but a good point to raise,it would have undoubtely have increased his standing ,maybe into the top ten?

Yeah it's just weird because Emile Griffith is pretty much considered a lock for top 5 all time as a welter, and Rodriguez scarcely even makes a top 10 at welter list, and arguably he got the better of Griffith and didn't lose a fight at welter until losing to Curtis Cokes (in their third fight that is; the first was a split dec. in Cokes' backyard).

    Itwould certainly have helped.

I've always considered them on more or less the same level anyway.

The second Cokes fight was in Luis' "backyard" in Miami which Rod. won.

The third fight on "neutral ground" in New Orleans, Cokes TKO'ed Luis.

But, I watched all the Rod. - Griffith fights and thought they either split the 4 fights, or Rod. won 3 of 4.

I was under the impression that only two of the fights were even available to watch.

It is possible you may be right.

Griffith & Rod. were on TV many times back in the early sixties and it was 45 years ago.
(Against each other and against other fighters.)

They fought each other at MSG (2), Las Vegas, and Dodger Stadium.

The fights were on Thurs, Friday, & Saturdays (2).

A combination of FNF and Wide World of Sports may or may not of carried them all. Plus maybe a tape delay could have happened.
