...and patience is a virtue (and I'm not just being cute rehashing a cliché from outside the scope of boxing - in the sport itself, many a 180° has been turned by playing the long game)

I just don't consider it synonymous with adaptability, which to me is a rarer and more special quality, more akin to what say Mayweather did in Maidana I down the stretch. (switching from his usual building all his work off his defense to actually pressing the lead and counter-baiting with combinations and body shots, pretty much resulting a clean sweep of the last third ensuring the W)

Well it's adaptability or planned strategy.

If Wlod just didn't throw right hands at Green because he's an idiot he wouldn't have been among the best cruiserweights in the world for all those years. I thought perhaps it might have been broken, but i've seen no evidence of that. He trapped him. He trapped Green with his right. As soon as he introduced that punch to that fight Green was putty in his hands.

Against Fragomeni he walked his guy on to feints/mobility or punches over and over again, something he hardly did at all in the first fight. The first fight was difficult, the second was very very easy.

The change, if you prefer that to adjustment, in the first fight took a losing fight and turned it into a winning fight. The change between Frago I and II took a close decision and turned it into a one sided knockout after near total domination.

I mean the guy actually has precident for taking a very difficult night and turning it into an easy one.

I don't expect to see that here, frankly, but it *****s up my ears this fight. Because I'm interested to know why a) Diablo wants to take another one-sided beating or b) what it is that he has up his sleeve that makes him think he can turn a one-sided loss into a win.

I can't believe it is a). I just can't imagine him being unable to unearth a comparable payday elsewhere.

Diablo ALWAYS has had a rematch clauses put in his contracts should he have lost the first fight

apparently Diablo had massive issues outside the ring before their first fight (I heard he's had a kid with a women who wasn't his wife, something like that), but I can't see why it would of made a difference had he been 100% focussed, Drozd is a level or two above him

this is totally pointless, most likely another near shutout by Drozd
