Read where Gary Russell Jr wants to fight Inoue, presumptively at FW..

GRJ was a decent boxer in his time, but now at 35, I wouldn't fancy him in that match; heck, I don't think in his absolute prime he would stand a chance.

    My prediction, Inoue KO 3-7

    Thoughts?

Unless he holds a belt at 126 Inoue shouldn't bother with him.

as a fan i'd like the fight but GRJ is pretty much a tuneup fight at 126 for inoue at this point

Exactly. After he collects all the belts at 122, GRJ would be a decent step up in weight fight at FW, but knowing Inoue, he will probably go straight at a belt holder

GRJ basically ought to be blacklisted for milking a belt and holding up progress in his division. I hope he doesn't get a payday.

That said, he was very good in his prime and might have built a great career were it not for his lack of interest. It's a shame for Loma, too, because imo that win has not aged the way it should have.

GRJ is looking to cash out. He wouldn't last 3 rounds.

Might have been interesting a few years ago maybe. Now? Too soon. He should wait for 2 more years to marinate the fight

Pointless fight now unless GRJ can pick up a title. He's just looking for one final good payday before retiring most likely. Inoue would destroy him at any weight, even in his prime he wasn't on Inoue's level.

Blah blah blah. A quick search will show you this turd has "called out" and talked smack about every top fighter he COULD have fought but didn't. He tried to cherry pick Loma thinking he wasn't that good and got EMBARASSED and I relish that fight.

This guy is a piece of garbage. Didn't he also insinuate or flat out say Inoue was on PEDs?

GRJ just isn't active enough. Has the skills set though. He should get a tune up fight before fighting Inoue.

Gary Russell already ducked Inoue as did Rau'shee Warren. Maybe Gary Russell Jr. will actually have the minerals to fight Inoue.

    Won't help. GRJ is cashed.

GRJ never built too much of a following (gee, wonder why) and he's coming off a loss. No real box office value here, so no reason to distract Inoue from his mission @ 122.
