Hi all, just wondering if anybody here has ever had a groin strain or something similar? How bad was it, what did it feel like, what was your recovery like etc.?
Playing basketball last night, had a drink break and probably cooled down a bit too much, straight back into it and I went at the board hard for a layup.... a fast side stepping motion and as I pushed off the ground I felt one of my adductor muscles tear.
I'd been at the boxing gym just beforehand so it may have been the volume of exercise contributing, or it may have been because straight after my boxing session I performed static stretches for 10-15 minutes....
I'm guessing mine's a grade 2 injury, walking is a problem at the moment but I doubt it's severe enough for surgery.
It's frustrating as hell being unable to do anything for what will probably be weeks..
Any advice and sharing of experiences would be much appreciated :good

Hey lefty had a similar experience myself playing football (soccer). Was sprinting for ball then stumbled because of a divot in the ground felt groin go pop! Best way to to describe it was an elastic band snapping! Had bruising from groin to just before inside of knee! Think it was a grade 2 tear also! i didn't get the proper medical help i should have tho! i know that wasn't very wise of me took about 8-10 weeks before i could run again!
