Which ones do you all use, and how tight should they fit?

i use an abdo guard by title that fits tight and is quite high at the front up to the top of my waist band on my shorts. its the best one for me

my club supplies them so 1 time i got an adbo guard that only went up to the top of my **** and t relay annoyed me

also the actual cup that protects you need to be XXL for me with a S waist

I never use one in training, but it may be a good plan I had my first painful low blow last week.

Always seem to be getting hit low by your brother and kids... funny how that works out... I've had a simple everlast cup that goes about 5 inches upwards, I dont like the wrap around my waist one, I dont feel as 'free'. I cant remember the last time I've worn it... I spar with more skilled boxers though and not my kids... Im sure I'll be sorry for not wearing one some day though.

The funny thing about my low blow is that it was my own fault, I parried a right hand to the plexus into my nuts.

I dont mean to be confrentational with you GPater, my gyms just alot different, I think the yougest guy sparring there is 17. Im only 19, and if anyone 'cheats' they know they're going to have about 3 other guys cheating and yelling at them. I think the most 'cheating' done in my gym is by me. Ill sometimes step on their lead foot and throw the jab and straight while they're less mobile. Im taller and got longer reach so... and I didnt know you were 15, I thought you were saying 'your' kids low blow you, as in you're a father not as in other kids at the gym. My bad bro.

It happens often, but this was the first time it hit my nuts. I need to learn to parry it off to the side a little :!:

Yea. The gym I was at in Milwaukee I sparred with a 220 lb, about 10% body fat, meat head regularly (I weigh 165). Ages were different there, I would spar a 15 year old girl one day and a 38 year old man the next. At my current gym its consist's of only 17-26 year olds. With the exception of my trainer whos 40. At my gym now though, they only let me spar cause Ive competed in amateurs. Otherwise, if you're newer, they make you wait like 6 months to spar I've noticed.

What I do when they throw straights RDJ is stuff their hits. Ill catch their hits with the palm of my glove and push it quickly towards them about half a foot. Works like a charm for me. That and I've made a guy quit mid-spar before because it hurt his shoulder.

rdj gutted if that happened in a fight you would look a right plonker

rock our clubs pretty wild compared to some clubs you can spar on your first ever night of training if you had a gum sheild they like people to get experaince
never sparred a girl though but i couldnt hit a girl so i would ask to stop
