I like paddy. Think hes a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Actually sells himself short and underplays himself a lot of the time plus speaks a lot of sense imo.

In defence of him...its always hard dealing with a man thats been trained a certain way for most of his career. Much like manny steward struggled to improve naseem.

As someone said paddys been brought in as a yes man. Take my hat off to groves for some of the things hes tried to do with his career ie signing with sauderlands instead of hearn. Going for paddy. taking the froch fight maybe earlier than he should of etc etc. but its not really worked out for him. Time to go back to the drawing board and get people involved that will take the decision making etc out of his hands. Good career ahead of george if he gets things right behind the scenes. Would be stupid to give it up now. The problem is imo booth is hard to replace...very good trainer. Best in the uk for me.

Why would Adam booth take on GG now, he is worst now then when he had him years ago. Unfortunately Groves is a serial loser at the highest level.

To see if he can get him back to the fighter he used to be. Groves has never had the chance to fight at the highest level, with Booth in his corner. Things were going well up until then.

George has always had the vulnerabilities gassing. Chin a bit suspect. Slight delusionism. Booth had him fighting to a game plan that got him by at the level he was fighting at. Looks like we ll never know if booth would have helped him to win at the highest level for long. I genuinely think in hindsight george would always struggle. Vulnerabilities are just too big. Doesnt matter if booth was training him. froch for example would have found a way to make it a dogfight...like hes pretty much always been able to do. Could be arguments either way. But at the top level two things you need are chin and stamina or someones going to drown you before long. I dont see why booth wouldnt take him back on if the money was right. Its a win win situation for him. If he can it enhances his reputation if he cant it ll go down to george not being quite good enough.

Failing that in the uk maybe the ingles. Someone a bit different. George has the power. His problem at the minute is hes a bit too predictable.

People have overrated groves from the first froch fight. Had froch turned up mentally prepared and knocked groves out like most people expected, everyone would be praising george for his performance against jack. Groves is a good fighter, he is not shot or performing badly under Fitzpatrick, he was just overrated and therefore people are searching for a reason for this supposed under performing. He would have had the exact same results against these fighters no matter who he had in his corner IMO, especially as he doesn't seem to think he needs to listen to anyone but himself.

I think Booth would take him back. Had to listen to the first Froch fight on the radio. Booth was on it and he was gutted for George and angry at how the fight finished. You could tell it was genuine. Heard him say on another interview at a later date something along the lines of they're still friends and didn't exactly rule out working with him again. So if the terms were right for him I don't get the impression the split has left irreconcilable differences on his behalf. Plus, with a lot of people writing Groves off it's a chance to enhance his reputation by getting him back on track. Not much to lose.

Groves is a good fighter no doubt but who hired Paddy Fitzpatrick?GG he took the cheap option and it has come back to haunt him.

He fell out with Booth over money, the right or wrongs of that even if a compromise couldn't be met he should of employed a trainer the equal of Booth at least. He didn't and that was his call....no one else.

Could see booth seeing this as a similar type of job to the one he did for Andy lee, don't think anyone would have thought lee would have done what he did

I agree with this, Groves was massively overrated after that 1st fight with Froch. He has big issues as someone else has stated i.e chin, stamina to really do it at the highest level. The one thing he really had going for him was his confidence but I don't think he even has that anymore after Froch.

Maybe groves looked the part under booth because of the level of opposition?! Even then the signs of vulnerability were there against Anderson... He should give rob McCracken a call !

Paddy made his money off Groves. A total phony.

Groves was better off paying Booth the extra they were quibbling about.
