The IBF ordered the rematch stating.........

That " Inappropriate conduct by Howard Foster, contributed to Groves losing the fight" .

Correct, that being he stopped the fight too early. They never said he should have taken points off or that the judges score cards were wrong. Groves never made a complaint about the judges

But the governing body was the BBBofC and they backed foster from the start. They wont be swayed by the IBF who were the Sanctioning body not governing.

Ridiculous. It would set up a savage precedent, wih fraudulent appeals coming from EVERYWHERE. Soon retrospective appeals will become the norm from fights that took place ages ago. Poor scorecards will be appealed against, and they take place on a weekly basis. A sport like boxing is always going to be prone to errors from refs and judges. How are you going to prove corruption as opposed to incompetence?

It's a joke. He needs to get over it and move the hell on. Honestly.

I follow the sport very closely, and like you i have never heard or read any official statement that mentioned, scorecards, or point deductions.

I don't think the result was fair. The stoppage should not have happened, Groves was winning and the scorecards were off imo. The fairest result would be a NC and lets do the fight again. I don't care about precedents, if a result is unfair then it shouldn't stand.

I'm not saying it will be declared a NC, but it should be.

Yep, I said something similar on another thread, he also didn't give Anderson a re-match, in fact didn't he agree to re matches, put him through 2 camps and then pull out due to injury or better offers!

Hard to argue otherwise with that ruling.

Groves is getting tiresome though, it is not that he is appealing, it is how whiny he has continued to be!

Maybe Boxing should swallow it's pride by introducing a new scoring system.
