Yeah cause doing nothing is better?

Froch is still upset with Groves and is still in denial about what happened that night, the guy can't like the idea of a rematch any less than he already did, I doubt anything has changed today.

Would be great if Froch gets cornered into it, IBF may wash their hands of Froch if they see Groves as potentially the bigger star going forward, who knows how its going to play out though.

Ever since that fight Froch has spent a lot of time trying to convince everyone that it was a legitimate stoppage and the only outcome was going to be a KO win for him, he has also shown no interest in, let alone urgency for, a rematch with Groves. I dont think Froch wants the rematch at all and I have severe doubts that we will see one. If Groves leaves it to Froch I get the feeling that Froch will just bypass him and go for someone else anyway and the only thing a successful appeal to the IBF will do is see Froch relinquish their title.

Groves being ktfo was a possible outcome.

That being said, I think a rematch is the best marketable fight for Froch right now. The first fight was a blast. The two hate each other. Plus that fight is to know who is the king of the place.

Haha. Groves is the crybaby? The way Froch was bleating about his two comprehensive losses to Kessler and Ward and groves is the crybaby for moaning about one of the worst boxing decisions in living memory?

Get a grip jas. if this was the other way round Froch would be screaming blue murder. He has no confidence he'd win the rematch just like he was worried Dirrell would beat him again. Warrior? I don't think so.

Yeah, Froch knocking Groves out was a possible outcome, I dont deny that, what Froch and his more blinkered fanboys have done, however, is to act as if that was only outcome and that Groves never had a hope in hell of making it out of that round let alone making it to the final bell.

And the rematch is marketable, Groves wants it, Hearns wants it, SkySports want it, and the majority of fans want it, in fact, the only people yet to show any interest in it whatsoever are Carl Froch and his camp. In fact the Daily Mirror reported only yesterday that Hearns had admitted: “The Groves fight is the biggest financially, but I don’t think Carl feels he needs it. The public wants it but as far as he’s concerned he has beaten Groves." ( http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/carl-froch-ten-count-answer-3039833#.Ut2Rkvunyt8 ) and added that Froch preferred next opponent is Chavev Jr. As such, I doubt Froch's commitment to a rematch with Groves.

Generic statement, arguably true, but doesn't add much to the thread. Would be more constructive if that was attatched to a quote of a post it was relevent to.

I'm one of the few who saw a fairly even fight, and IMO Froch was gonna win (though the early stoppage screwed him of any glory) - but I'd be more than happy to see a rematch - I ain't particularly a Froch fan and the first fight was shaping to be one of the FOTYs.

Groves ain't gonna find a better payday anywhere (and I doubt Froch will either) - but IMO he will lose for a second time - and probably not as impressively.

I can't see see the IBF enforcing Groves' claim, but if there's money in the fight I suspect Froch will take it - Carl is coming to the end of his career, and £s are gonna be his primary concern...unless a Chavez Jr, Ward or Pascal (and right now Pascals gotta look like a good option) rematch are gonna pay more, why not?

I assume the comment was addressed in my direction?

    No, he didn't.

The fight can now be fairly easily reviewed on 'tube or P2Ped - if you actually choose to watch what happened rather than what was called by the commentary team....well - ****, I don't care what you think - at the time of stoppage I had Groves ahead by 3 points (including the KD) - with 2, 5 and 8 for Froch.

That's Groves one round ahead after 8 - what one would call a fairly even fight - yes?

    1 was Groves 10-8
2 and 3 coulda gone either way (I went 2 Froch, 3 Groves)
    4 was Groves
    5 and 6 either way (I tend for 5 Froch 6 Groves)
    7 Groves
    8 Froch

I have the fight saved in HD - I watch it cos it's a good fight, I also watch it to study it. (Watched it again Saturday FWIW, prior to Bute - Pascal for the sake of comparison).

I ain't particularly concerned about your opinion, but it was one of the the most partial commentaries I've ever heard. After the 1st rnd KD you would imagine Froch was fighting for his life and Groves landed every shot he threw. Try watching the fight - I mean, just watching it.

Froch was just too tough... Groves had the chance to get him out of there, but he couldn't finish the job... Eventually he got tired and started punching like a woman... Groves would never have seen the final bell... Not ever...

No one knows what would have happened if the ref had let it go a bit. But Groves isn't doing himself any favours here. If he'd came out and been a bit more respectful. Then imo there would be a better chance of a rematch happening. But the way he's acting. It wouldn't surprise me if Froch fought someone else.
