Interesting analysis. Good to see someone who can read a fight fairly accurately. I thought Groves won round 6 by a mile, some shots Carl took. Premature stoppage can't be argued however being realistic Froch would have finished Groves off. Taking away which fighter you prefer and being truthful, Groves was in serious trouble and would have continued to take more shots from Froch.

Groves will KTFO Froch in the rematch. You can take that to the bank.

Cheers M8. Curiously at the time of the fight I went 5 Groves 6 Froch, but then reversed my opinion on review.

Round 6 though is when Groves first starts to unravel a bit, despite appearing to land the the bigger shots and get the better of the mid-round exchanges Groves is starting to look very ragged by the end and despite his movement on the ropes has clearly been hurt - I guess thats why I initially went with Froch despite Groves getting the best of most of the round.

Undoubtedly the stoppage was some BS - but yeah - my reading was very much that Groves was on his way out - from 6 onwards (despite a rally in 7) it was clear Groves was reaching the end of his resources.

FWIW I think Groves likely gave himself the best chance of winning the fight by throwing everything he had at Froch early - he probably knew he'd be struggling if Froch was still around in the later rounds.

Groves will knock Froch out, but that is the reason Froch is afraid to rematch him. Froch is being a coward.............

Groves was kicking the sh!t out of Froch for most of the fight. It was a poor stoppage and Froch needs to man-up and give him a rematch. If not, then retire 'Carl the Coward'.

It was as clear a British stoppage as they come, only with a British victim too in this instance. Groves is right to file an appeal, but I feel it's a longshot hoping the IBF will order a rematch because I don't think this incident could somehow have been missed by the IBF. And if they felt something should be done, then the rematch would already have been ordered.

    Good luck to Grover

    I've watched it several times

I take no notice of commentators in ANY fight - I think they are biased as ****

Groves landed the cleaner harder shots
    Groves outlanded froch majorly
Groves ring generalship was way above carls
Carls weak ass jab was useless
Carls power punches were arm punches and merely scuffed groves a few times

So yeah , groves bossed the fight

Do you not find yourself strange for being a very small handful that scored it fairly even ?

    Fool

Their first fight was not a robbery or a ref-job, just a premature stoppage that was bound to happen anyway. Groves wasn't finishing that fight on his feet. Regardless, this fight needs a rematch and Froch will lose a shitton of supporters if he dodges it with shady excuses.

Froch doesn't really have any other options out there to "walk". Who is he going to fight instead?, Ward II?, Chavez Jr.?

terrible stoppage, stopped a potential classic

groves getting better and froch getting older,

froch will lose respect, even from his wife

No, I saw what the judges saw. Froch consistently going to the body and Groves landing far fewer shots than were being called - if you can't score a fight properly I don't care.

    Your an idiot mate.
    The judges were clearly bought
Groves out landed Carl By a **** load. It seems everyone is in agreement but you?

Your a fool. Clearly from Nottingham or a relation to carl to be defending those awful judges score cards

No way will he win the appeal but a good tactic keeps the story in the press hypes it up a bit more.

I think this could all just be a ploy to increase the appitite for the fight, Froch never backed down from a challenge in his career why would he do it now for what will be the biggest payday of his career.

I think the fight will be made for early summer stadium fight and all these appeals ect are just there to keep interest high

Groves is beating a dead horse. He should just get on with his career-it's Froch who will have to live with his decision not to fight Groves.

His basis for appeal is ref bias, no way the IBF will uphold that argument. The appeal will fail probably.

Groves needs to move on quickly if it does and focus on someone else and make his way to a title
