George Groves looked good, but can he take as good as he gives? Will he be able to cope with the pressure and intensity of a fight with Paul Smith? :think

i made a bad call with regards to groves v adamu, i thought although adamu would be wild, he would be more competitive with groves, but when the stoppage came, it was a bull **** decision. The problem groves is going to have when he steps up to the level of someone like smith is that there are going to be accurate punches coming in return, and he will be punished for the wild right hand he throws, and the low left arm he carries. He left himself far too open.No doubt in his skill and taent though, but he started to believe in his power a bit too much. Two of the knockdowns were flash ones to be honest Groves needs to fight dilks next, who scored a chilling KO last night by the way.

    :lol::lol::rofl:rofl:patsch:patsch:nut:nut

    Behave!

Dilks was labouring like hell with Drake last night before the sickener - hopefully Drake will be ok - and went life and death with Adamu..... who Groves absolutely wasted last night.

The only super middle that would have a chance against Groves in the UK is Froch. The rest.....

    :hi:

nomas, i have noticed you are good at giving your opinion, but you never give any reason for them... in the past 5 minutes you have posted 2 threads saying ''if haye catches either klit, its game over'' and ''groves would bury smith'' but i wanna hear an explanation as to why you think this. :nut:good

What exactly can Smith dish out? He hasn't KO'd anybody great, his vaunted power has turned out to be a misnomer. Certainly at 168 its nothing to write home about, Smith wouldn't have hurt Adamu like that.

Groves will beat him. He's the better boxer, the better athlete, the much better talent. If you want to rely on the perception he is tougher, or that Groves can't do 12 rounds go ahead. That's basically all Smith has in his favour, perceived toughness and the fact he's more experienced which is fair enough...but if Groves can take a punch and last the distance he's ****ed.

constant pressure, sick bodyshots and he has a cast iron jaw that matches his will to win. Groves is WAY more open than quigley and dodson where and i think this would ceal his loss against smith. im open to opinions though, so... how will groves deal with smith? :think

one things for sure, if groves wants to get in with smith, he'd better be willing to fight HARD!!

Why do you think Smith has a cast iron jaw? It's a whole different ball game when you're facing power and speed as a combination. Adamu found that out, he could take Froch's power because they were slow and easier to brace himself for, but these punches really sting when they're so sharp and precise on the counter. You award that term far too freely it seems because neither Dodson nor Quigley have an above 50% KO ratio, it doesn't exactly make him the next Chuvalo.

His body shots wouldn't keep me up at night if I was Groves camp. I'd be happy for him to come wading in looking for the body. That is exactly where Groves can smash him down the pipe and take advantage.

    No problem.

    Haye

If Haye catches either Klit they will go because his power will be too much for them. They will not be used to getting hit as often and as hard. Haye has more agility and angles than they will ever be used to catering for...that is where I draw my conclusions too... Haye will box his way into an opportunity where he can let the big guns go at the right time.

    Groves

I think the style of Groves will draw Smith onto the shots... I am a Smith fan, he is a very gutsy and determined fighter, I think that last fight with Dodson may have put a few uneccesary miles on the clock for him.

I think that the left hook of Groves will cause Smith untold problems and it will turn into a very frustrating night for him with Groves making him look quite pedestrian with how easy he avoids his shots and counters him with his own.

I am always happy to answer any questions on anything I post...:yep

But these forums are all about opinions and opinions are like arseholes, we have all got one...:yep
