Great news for Groves is not a fight with DeGale. He should not be looking for that fight it will end his career and put him back 2-3 years.

if thats the case then id say its on , but i wont get the **** out just yet .

 

I like Groves but he needs to leave ''Team Haye'' without delay, and find a trainer that helps him find ways to exploit his strengths and tighten up his weaknesses.

He looked quality in his first few fights and destroyed opponents like Adamu and looked great on the Haye/Valuev card...... but on the bill in Vegas he was getting hit too often and was stuck on his arse + hurt badly against Anderson.

The heart is there, as are the skills, plus he can bang his way out of trouble at times if needed..... but tactically he's way off.

I want to see this fight now - there's nothing stopping them meeting down the line in future. Plus this ''wait until it's bigger'' stuff is bollocks. What's bigger than the British title?

Some interim super duper in recess alphabelt?

Is the WBO title any more prestigious than our title..... when some clown who caught Paul Appleby on a bad night is getting a shot?

Is the WBA - that will sanction a fight between two ESB members for some kinda strap?

etc etc.

 

People are getting a little carried away with Degale. I'm a believer- but lets remember he's not infallable- and Groves is a talented kid. I think they'll make the fight. I think Adam Booth will realise that Groves has lost a great amount of momentum on the back of his last two shaky performances. They must truly believe Groves will win- if they do its the best fight out there for them right?

I don't get the over-excitement about DeGale. He beat Smith, which everyone thought he'd do, and in the manner they thought he'd do it. What's impressive about that?

Groves probably learnt a lot from the Anderson fight (and Anderson's no mug - I think he'd have beaten Smith). Hopefully he'll tighten up his defence while he's young enough for it to stick.

 

the thing is whislt some have got carried away at the same time groves aint done anythink nearly as impressive , ok andersons better than smith but groves looks so flawed its unreal , that "low arm try to bob and weave defence " as a defence is great when your haye and 4 times faster than your heavyweight opponents but at super middle groves dosent hold that advantage at any level never mind when he starts to step it up

 

its not bollox though it is. if the fight was for the WBO or WBA belt it would sell more tickets and get more intrest from the press. i understand what your saying mate but if you think a birtish title fight is bigger than an alphabet belt you living in a fantasy land
