Rd 6 O'Meara continuing his good form this round. Nice right hand! Smith is backing off now and O'Meara is stalking him without actually throwing anything. Smith has thrown **** all this round, gave it to O'Meara who actually didn't do much. Throwed a few tentantive jabs after that right hand at the start. 57-56 Smith
Rd7 This is being fought at a shocking slow tempo. You'd think two evenly matched guys like this would do more but nah. Now Smith is marching forward, landing his bodyshots. O'Meara really didn't take advantage the last round when Smith was having a round off. Now O'Meara comes back well, left hook to the body floowed by a right hand over Smith's jab. Further good work as he lets a combination go. This is what he needs! If O'Meara kept busy I think he might have Smith in trouble. Smith keeps looking for breaks during rounds. 66-66
Rd8 That knockdown that wasn't could prove to be crucial here. Depends if all the judges scored it 10-8 for Smith. Smith losing out on the exchanges early on but now he's coming back and landing some real meaningful punches that O'Meara takes well. Close round but I'm giving it to Smith, had more on his pucnhes. 76-75 Smith
Rd9 Neither fighter asserting his authority over the other. Both have there good spells during rounds only to let the other back in. Fighting head on and O'Meara on top but then SMith gives himself some room and wings in a couple of right hands. Ooh! Short left hook caught O'Meara and Smith follows up with a right hand as O'Meara backs off towards the ropes and then ties up. Smith round. 86-84 Smith
Rd 10 O'Meara has thrown away a few rounds by simply not doing enough. Smith seems to have got over his mid fight lull and is definitely in the ascendancy. O'Mera has not pressed the action all night, his best work has been inside but it's all been in response to Smith trying to walk him down. He's never attempted to push Smith back and really lay it on him. Another Smith round. 96-93 Smith, O'Meara's letting this get away.
