I like Groves but I think technically, he has a lot of short comings at world level. He was hurt against Sierra too and I think he's been a couple times before?

I think he can become a champion, pick up a couple of good wins but I don't rate any of the Brits highly tbh. Hope he fights in July against Glitz or another high rated but up 'n coming or already there fighter, enough with the warm-up fights.

July, if it happens will be another tune up/keep busy fight against someone who slightly resembles his Sept opponent. I'd be very (pleasantly) surprised if it Steiglitz in Sept; they just aren't making those noises for Sept.

I guess it'll be a southpaw journeyman in July followed by Magee in Sept.
I'd love Steiglitz in Sept and the winner fights Froch in Dec. That really would capitalise on the Kessler win.

same here i think he quality and a world champion for sure.

the issues for me are this.do i think he better than stieglitz for sure, however there is no way that fight gets made anywhere else other than germany if at all due to don't see hearts having cosy relationship with wbo unlike other promoters.therfore more than likely if does face stieglitz its on away soil and has to ko him and we saw in first abraham fight stieglitz is very tough with decent chin.

the wbc route might be best route with that vacant bely and just wait in line for that opportunity rather than risk a tricky german away day.

either way am sure will be champ and as soon as that occurs opens some massive fights for him namely regale and froch.

Yusuf Mack? Very acceptable undercard fight and would set up a Froch fight.

  5. I would rather see him fight Kenny Anderson next than magee

but Anderson seems to have vanished

Definitely agree with this, but I fear Magee is far more likely.

Another one they're suggesting to compare one boxers performance with anthers. No imagination.

THIS! Why is Groves not calling out Stieglitz? I am not sure if we even see that fight! Is Groves still mandatory? So Hearn should win a possible purse bid. I would not fight Stieglitz in Magdeburg. Now they even want another tune up fight in July. And then a fight in September? Stieglitz already beat guys better than Groves (more proven) and this point of Groves career it would be a hard fight against Stieglitz. 50/50 in my opinion.

Did Hearn and Groves not they they want another fight before having abig fight in September?
I hope they get a guy like Sartison. He went 12 rounds with Kessler and Balzay. So if Groves can stop him better than those guys it will show if Groves has great power. You dont show great power by stopping guys like Alcoba or Barrakat.

I thought he said he was out in September, heard nothing about July. Also, know nothing about Balsay, but if he beat Sartison, why not him? That would probably put George high in everybody's ratings if he won.My feeling is that he has a fair bit of time, and the only champion he could be really confident against is Steiglitz at the moment. And Robert aint coming to London.Dont blame him either.

Thanks for the info.I actually didn't think his last opponent was as bad as the previous two,but would like to see him step it up.Wouldnt mind an Anderson rematch, but think Groves would do the same thing without getting into trouble himself. To beat Degale easier, however,I think is a different proposition.Could even win a world title himself, and IMO always a 50 50 fight ofr Groves.

So far Groves best win was DeGeale who himself is unproven at world level. In my opinion Groves needs to fight a decent guy now.
Alcoba already was schooled in his prime 6 years ago in the middleweight division. He had no chance at all against Sturm. Then Alcoba was stopped easy against Stevenson (Stevenson had easier work with Alcoba than Groves). Then Alcoba fight Groves as main support for a big PPV event? :patsch:-:)-(
Get a guy like Sartison in there. Much experience. Decent Super Middleweight and who is good enough to give Groves some rounds and who can fight back. But I bet Hearn will match him carefull again.
