It appeared on Ringside that George Groves mind games are not working, do people think he has lost the edge he had on Froch?

Mostly scripted lot of the animosity is bull**** purely to sell the fight, why have so many bought tickets? same reason most will buy the pay per view & it ain't an interest in who's the best British super middleweight (World no.1 would be Ward), no fight could match up to expectations being built for this & it'll get worse by fight night, I guess (with no certainty whatsoever!) Froch by ko in 9 at the latest. Actually read on this site earlier Froch would get boo'd and fall apart during his ringwalk lol as for Groves & the hocus pocus pish, behave, if a soap churned out this **** they'd be pilloried, Eddie Hearn must've been laughing non stop for past 6 months. pisses me off to write this knowing i'm going to buy the ppv

Froch has fought against Abraham, Taylor, Kessler in hostile territory, why anyone thinks some boos are going to bother him is beyond me, I know people will say its different fighting in your own country and all that but I don't buy it, I think just because of what happened last time froch will be a lot more careful thus allowing groves to build a lead again and is chasing the fight all night, only question for me is if groves can last 12 because if he can he more than likely wins on points

Disagree, they've worked in the fact that Froch has had to hire a psychologist who's telling him how to act... you can't just suddenly become this person in 4 weeks, 4 weeks ago Froch wouldn't shake his hand yet now he will?

It's all an act to try and make him out to be this "new Froch" who's ignoring George's mind games but Froch is Froch, he'll still be getting pissed off.

Froch is quietly confident in his preparation. He knocks groves out. No Howard foster needed.

A lots made of Froch's body language but it's NOT only been the case since the Groves fight although it highlighted it more, Froch is a boxer not an academic so i don't really need or expect him to win silly games with his mouth/mind on the press tour,I think he's always been horrendous in front of the camera/mic, i remember his appearance on jonathan ross before kessler 2 where every time he had to speak he looked as if he'd rather be anywhere else, As for the mind games" i think any real boxing fan knows to expect a bit of nonsense on press tours but know it's only hyping the fight & take it with a pinch of salt. i thought they both looked like pricks on ringside last night Froch marginally less so due to the improvement from his last appearance

Although i reckon last nights ringside was scripted to an extent i think maybe it was for the best, they have to remember the needle and hype are great for selling fights but too much can lead to trouble & let's not forget there's going to be 80'000 in a volatile atmosphere & 25'000 (at least) will have been on the **** all day, seen a few scraps & iffy situations at the boxing & it really doesn't take much to set it off lol, probably not the worst idea to tone it down a bit for now

Froch doesn't look himself at all. He's being told to be quiet and keep his cool. He looks ill and pale

Ringside identified that Froch is still having problems dealing with Groves patter. Froch was also a little cutting in response to questions posed by audience individuals.

However, during the FB head to head Froch came across well and I warmed to him. Froch advising Groves to stop whinging about the past, referred to Groves as an excellent fighter who deserves to be in a fight with him and urged Groves to appreciatre the opportunity that his outstanding efforts in the first fight have earned him.

    Wise words.

I think he really got to Groves, but Froch's response to the audience questions was f***ing terrible.

You've put in 3 posts now on this subject and Ive got to admit I agree with 99 percent of it. It all makes sense. Only thing I would argue with is that I think Froch IS a bit of an academic, but as you say probably not too comfortable in front of the camera. Anyway, sorry if thats splitting hairs. The SKY presenter likes to say "these 2 really don't like each other". But he would have said that about Benn/Watson if he'd been around then, also Benn/Eubank. The insults and "hate" here are as nothing compared to that. When all this is finished,Froch and Groves will not be insulting each other. Guaranteed.

The mind games are having less of an effect but still having an effect imo. Doesn't make much difference in the ring anyway.

I've watched both ringside and the Facebook Q&A and I have to say, Groves doesn't look as confident as last tine. First time round he nailed Froch on the media stuff, but this time Froch is giving it as good as he is getting it.

Anyway it's all a load of bollox as when that 1st bell rings it's who wants it most !

I never meant Froch was stupid, he seems intelligent (sometimes) He's clearly insecure & unsure of himself & the biggest surprise to me with the belittling him in public is that no previous opponent has tried it, a self doubting character like his (in my humble lol) is perfect for mind games or whatever but i believe the fear of embarrassing himself is what drives him in fights & got him to his feet in round 1 & kept him there to the 9th & that sense of fear will be even greater this time round,How he only went down once i will never know, i don't buy the animosity but i'm still hooked
