Just listened to Buncey's ESPN podcast and Steve and Barry Jones were talking about George Groves fighting this weekend on the Steiglitz v Abraham undercard? Does anyone know if that's true?

Makes sense if it is as it sets up a fight against the winner.

The thinking behind it is probably beating two bums in two weeks is better than beating one. Makes sense, I guess :think

It would be very short notice, however if he fights on the card it would make sense maybe the winner of Stieglitz-Abraham would return the favor and fight on the Froch card against Groves.

He does a podcast for ESPN too - pretty much the same format as his old BBC London show. It's easy enough to find on iTunes.

Had to rewind back a few times to check I wasn't hearing it wrong, but Barry Jones says he was with Groves on Saturday night and George said he's fighting again next Saturday. Bunce then says it's funny that Groves left FWP and now he could be back on Boxnation.

Nothing on Boxrec, nothing on Booth, Groves or Hearn's twitter, but it does make sense as a keep busy and set-up a potential summer fight.

****, sorry - skim reading the replies.

Yeah it is on boxnation. That's why I was surprised when I heard it, but Bunce talks about that when they mention it. Seems like it's genuinely being considered.

Might explain why W****n was very amicable about the split as opposed to the Burns one.

As I said, it's clearly not official, but I'd be surprised if Bunce, given his employer, would be talking about it if it had zero truth. It isn't as if it'd be tough for him to find out either way.
