Because boxing is Grove's job not his hobby.

He's fighting twice in 14 days to shake off the ring rust, I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

His next main fight is on 25th May and then we'll jusdge him on his "direction".

I'm worried that there's not many exciting fights out there for him at the minute unless he steps up quite a lot and if he does its not going to be as an undercard fight.

I never wanted Groves to be chief support, big shame it couldn't be Ryder/Saunders.

I think we see Saunders vs Ryder July 6th.

I think Groves wants to skip the European route. He beat Johnson, who was a world level gatekeeper, so going for the European title after that is a bit of a backwards step. Johnson would have been top 15 in the world, easily, whereas N'Diaye is an obscure fighter who has never beaten anyone. Seeing as Groves has won the British and Commonwealth titles, the European belt would have been a logical next step, if Groves hadn't jumped beyond that and beaten Johnson to place himself onto the world stage. Even Sierra is probably beyond N'Diaye though, so for Groves to chase the European belt, it would have been a regression.

Groves should be looking at fighters like Stevenson, Mack, Bika, Magee or Oosthuizen. If not them, maybe even the Abraham/Stieglitz winner.

He's looking to eventually get the winner of Abraham Stieglitz...

Also Fury vacated to follow the WBC route, which if you check he is now ranked highly and is not far away from a title shot

Guys, does this count as one of the two fights that Groves is assigned to Matchroom for?

I was thinking that, I doubt it considering he has two fights left on his contract, May 25th co-headlining, then September headlining his on shown, that was the plan according to Hearn.

I think regarding his deal with Hearn this wont count as 1 of his 3 fights. Makes no sense to either Hearn or Groves to have this as part of there deal and I also think SKY would be pissed off big time if it was part of the 3 fight deal but with boxing no one knows.

Cant say it wouldn't be good to see him on the bill, but these are the kind of opponents he should have been taking before James Degale. After these warmups, lets hope its somebody decent{not Magee,I hope}in May and at least 2 more good ones if he doesnt land a title shot this year.

Also this bloke shoulnt be able to get too near to George, but, and I know its a bit pessimistic,if he does and gets his nut in,and theres a cut,the May date could be{to use an expression Frank borrowed}dead in the water.

This fight will be to make George look good.... with the plan further down the line to get Abraham or Stieglitz, makes sense for George. The more exposure the better
