last time 2G went up against a tough northerner it ended in tears. albeit delusional ones.

Groves can dominate soft southern types but facing a Gameof Thrones tpye Northerner is another thing altogether.

if he does it though, I will give him credit for cracking a probable top ten p4p, not that my credit it worth anything according to my bank right now.

If he beats Smith, Benavidez and Ramirez, then I'd put him in top 10 for sure. Only problem is, none of them are proven world class fighters yet. That's the situation he's in, Groves is really the only Super-Middleweight at the moment who is proven. You could maybe argue for DeGale as well, but he's been shaky, should be beating truax, even with a year gap between fights.

I'd slide him into top 10 though if he beats all those 3 guys.

Top 10 p4p? Not for me. Number 1 SMW? Yes.

He's clearly the number 1 at super middleweight now. that's not even up for debate.

I'd have him sneaking in like 9th or 10th if he wins in the final, I'd have him like 14/15th now.
Cox although he'd never done anything before of note. proved in the Groves fight he is a strong fighter and I expect him to do well in the future.
Jamie Cox, Chris Eubank Jr and Callum Smith/Jurgen Braehmer are good wins, to add to Fedor Chudinov, James Degale, Martin Murray, Glen Johnson, etc. Groves is building a nice resume. It's clear all the doubts about his chin and stamina were all exagerrated and he actually has a pretty good chin and stamina. Has only lost to a P4P great fighter in the hard hitting Carl Froch, and a split decision to a solid fighter in Badou Jack.

I have him ranked above Badou Jack P4P even though he has an official loss to him. Reason being is because Groves knocked out Jack's surrogate father Jamie Cox who sparked Jack in sparring and because Cox also bashed up a much better version of DeGale in sparring than the shot DeGale who Jack fought. Groves beat a better version of DeGale than the one Jack fought too. #Facts.
