It was a sham card anyway, groves wasnt gonna shift a great deal of tickets with no opponent yet named so this wont change the amount of sales a great deal imo.

Pinto was the guy that was supposed to defend his WBO title against Hatton back in 2004.

Apparently the fight was called off two days before because of visa problems

So Dennis Pedersen was drafted in.

Pinto was beaten not long after by Vince Phillips of all people.

 

Cotto beat him for the VACANT WBO title before Phillips.

 

It's been a while since I read Hatton's book.

Was the plan then for Hatton and Pinto to fight for it here.... before it all went pearshaped?
