Groves pulls out of December 9 Show

  1. Why not have all the Smiths on?

Even then, with the level of opponent they'll be able to get in on two week's notice it probably won't sell, especially with Chrimbo just around the corner.

Wouldn't surprise me if the whole bill got pulled.

Think it's time for Frank to put someone on bill and then they put out a day before fight..

Frank wouldn't do such a thing of course..

  5. Ah ok.....

Ricky Burns Joeseph Layrea II?. Burns really worked the Liverpool crowd last time he was there and Layrea always brings entertainment. First fight was brilliant..

Could Enzo Mac fight again at this notice?

Its not like his last fight was particularly taxing...

It was a sham card anyway, groves wasnt gonna shift a great deal of tickets with no opponent yet named so this wont change the amount of sales a great deal imo.

Cant see what there going for with this one really is a poor cad a t a poor time in a big hall

  12. Pinto was the guy that was supposed to defend his WBO title against Hatton back in 2004.

Apparently the fight was called off two days before because of visa problems

So Dennis Pedersen was drafted in.

Pinto was beaten not long after by Vince Phillips of all people.

Cotto beat him for the VACANT WBO title before Phillips.

  14. It's been a while since I read Hatton's book.

Was the plan then for Hatton and Pinto to fight for it here.... before it all went pearshaped?
