That body shot stripped Groves of any fight that was left in him. A really great finish by Smith who has a big money fight ahead of him against the Eubank/DeGale winner. Groves however, looks a very old 30 year old.

I see Smith isnt the only one having a mediocre night:)

Opinions are nothing like asreholes - only sh1t comes out of asreholes - whereas some opinions are the source of great wisdom (modesty prevents me from saying any more...:)

Poor fight glossed over by and rescued by a great finish (although GGs lack of toughness and intestinal fortitude made the finish look better than it was).

Credit to Smith, good finish. I predicted Groves to win on points and expected a better performance from him, but can't help but find Smith's style quite unexciting. Well deserved win and I hope he can excel and reach great heights from hereon

I had Smith a few rounds up. Had groves winning one and one even. It was clear he was behind.

Gotta take the L on this one didn't expect that. Smith Judged the distance well so Groves couldn't get his right hand off and he picked his moments to expose Groves defence that counter left hook was a thing of beauty.

I have to laugh, loads of people on here have been saying Groves is better than ever, has more power than Smith, has better jab, better boxing brain and bigger heart, but now after Smith beats him in all those areas Groves is suddenly past his best, has no punch resistance etc. We all get our predictions wrong, I certainly do just be honest and say Smith was far better than you thought.

Wanted Groves to win myself but the better man won on the night.

Groves now looking more 40 than 30 to me and it is time for him to hang up the gloves before he becomes Super Middleweight's version of Journeyman Del Chisora.

Couldn’t disagree more with this. Thought it was a really enjoyable bout. Chess match and good skills were on show with the rounds all being competitive.

As for Groves he’s fought on with Broken Jaws and a dislocated shoulder (albeit a brief amount of time) Doing a discredit to both men

Groves right arm was so low because they had studied how dangerous the Smith body shot was, left him vulnerable to the left hook.

Yeah, thought Groves was in control the last couple of rounds with his jab and speed. Why he was swinging like a madman when Smith was looking tired I don’t know.

Not impressed with the last punch Smith threw, Groves was already floored, taking those to the back of the head isn’t good.

Cheers to Jurgen for the PM! You saved me.

I thought round 3 was a great round, the rest of it was intense, cagey, very much like a chest match. I enjoy fights like that though.

I thought it was a very close fight in terms of scoring, but Callum’s shots were hurtful and scrambled Groves a few times.

I’m chuffed to bits for Smith. I said (like others) that he would become a world champion. I think he’ll go on to do it at 175 too.

Eubank has a good chance against degale but no way he takes on Smith, that wouldn't be good for him at all. He will move back down to middleweight or look at other fighters but not Smith
